    Great Lakes Women’s Business Council (Great Lakes WBC) is a nonprofit champion for women and minority business owners. We provide access to capital, corporate procurement opportunities, certification for women-owned business enterprises, and small business educational support. We represent more than 1,400 Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certified women’s business enterprises generating approximately $8.6 billion in annual revenue and employing 48,000 U.S. workers as well as 90+ corporate partners in a diverse range of industry sectors. We provided $8 million in loans to small business owners who created 1,800 jobs. Through the Michigan Women’s Marketplace and in-person sessions, we have trained more than 15,000 business owners and entrepreneurs.

    About Veronica...
    Veronica Johnson is the Director of Certification for the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council.  She came to the organization in 2007 and began as a Certification Assistant.  Since then, Great Lakes WBC has seen an increase of over 800 certified women owned businesses.  There are currently 1,450 certified women business enterprises representing $ 12.3 billion in annual revenue and 48,500 U.S. workers.
    Veronica is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the certification process, program growth and staff, along with managing certification review committee meetings and representing Great Lakes WBC in the community.

    Letting go of limiting beliefs and finding her voice: Marley Westbrook

    In today's episode, Marley talks about how revisiting her childhood has played a key role in her healing. She shares how she was able to link the beliefs that she formed in her childhood to the negative impact they were having in her current reality. She was able to rewrite many of these beliefs and now feels happy and fulfilled. Marley talks about how she understands that our evolution is constant and she will continue to do the work that it takes to stay in a positive space.

    Marley Westbrook is a single Mompreneur who started her business from scratch. She went from 6 figures to having to completely revamp her business from 2020-2021, while simultaneously going through a divorce. She pushed through the adversity and is now coming back more driven and focused than ever on the direction of her business and personal life.
