You're more of a mattress — Laura Lexx on her bride speech, Somerset, 2015

Laura Lexx is an acclaimed British comedian who has appeared on many television shows ('Roast Battle', 'Mock the Week') and has written a novel 'Pivot' and a bestselling humour book 'Klopp Actually'. Her tweets imagining a steamy yet sensible love affair with Jurgen Klopp lit up Twitter for a weekend in 2020, and scored her a book deal! But this episode is about her real life wedding in 2015 to fellow comedian Tom Livingstone (The Noise next Door) and the excellent bride speech she gave thanking him and her sister. It's a hit on YouTube and Laura is great on the whole question of how to do a bride or groom speech.

S1E25: GDA - Women Raising The Bar

As the Gonzaga Spring Musical, Into The Woods, gives its final performances this weekend, S1E25 of the Echo Ever Proudly podcast is the second part of our Spring salute to the Gonzaga Theater.

Last week, we heard GDA Hall of Fame memories from cast members from the 1972 production of Damn Yankees. This week, the spotlight shifts to three women whose talents have helped the Gonzaga Dramatic Association reach new heights over the last two decades: Meghan Goldsmith, JZ Zaeske, and Sarah Frances Hope Williams.

All three women have added their unique talents, perspective, and leadership, to raise the bar for the drama students on Eye Street. Longtime Gonzaga faculty member, as well as GDA Club moderator, Paul Buckley '86 joins the conversation and shares his appreciation for how these three women (among other recent additions to the program) have improved the student theater experience on Eye Street.

What was each woman's path to Gonzaga? What moments and performances stand out from their favorite shows? And why are active parents so important to the GDA?

Hear their inspiring answers, insights, and more in Episode 25 of the Echo Ever Proudly podcast. Follow, Subscribe and Share with anyone who you know loves Gonzaga!

What Would I like To To Try Again? ( "You Develop You" Reflection Question 3) Ep 20 with Luke

What Would I like To To Try Again? ( "You Develop You" Reflection Question 3) Ep 20 with Luke

Today  Roben and Kelsey sit down with Roben's husband and Kelsey's Uncle, Luke. That's me, by the way! I am also the Destination Connections' post-production editor as well as the intro voice you hear each week.
When I was younger, I loved acting. Like it was all I wanted to do with my life. As I entered into adulthood and ventured even further into parenthood, I felt compelled to set that passion on the proverbial back burner. There were only 24 hours in a day, and my life demanded all of them. Today, Kelsey and Roben ask me about the "You Develop You" Reflection question #3, What would you like to try again?
As our 6 kids grow up and gain some independence, Roben and I are picking up some things we laid down almost 18 years ago. I recently dipped my toe in the vaguely familiar arena of auditions, casting, rehearsals and performances! Today was a fun stroll down memory lane. So what did you do once upon a time that you'd like to try again? Reach out to Roben and Kelsey at Destination Connections Facebook page or email roben@destinationconnections.com or kelsey@destinationconnections.com and share your story!
