The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is a 2023 American dystopian action film directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Michael Lesslie and Michael Arndt. Based on the 2020 novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, it serves as a prequel to The Hunger Games (2012), and is the fifth installment in The Hunger Games film series. The film stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Viola Davis. Set 64 years before the events of the first film, its plot follows the events that lead a young Coriolanus Snow on the path to becoming the tyrannical leader of Panem, including his relationship with the Hunger Games District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird during the 10th Hunger Games.

Not Caroline at all!

We celebrate the end of our first season with a big discussion of the last two chapters and an imaginary casting session for the inevitable big-budget TV series or film adaptation. Other topics include areas where we wish we could get a do-over, some alternate book names that didn't quite make the cut, and how our fantasy story slowly morphed into a collectivist screed about how billionaires shouldn't exist.

Episode Fifty-Six. The Weekly Reel Podcast guilty pleasure series continues with another one of Ken's. This time around, Ken shares the 2002 Nicholas Sparks film adaptation, A Walk to Remember.

In this week's edition of The Double Feature, the guys break down a key moment in the film and reveal whether or not they saw it coming. Then, Jeremy asks Ken what made A Walk to Remember a guilty pleasure movie. After the break, the guys hand out their Weekly Reel Awards and Guess the Rotten Tomatoes Score. Will Ken finally close out season 3 with a dagger-like winning guess?
