86 400 is Australia's first smart bank. Launched in September 2019 with an unrestricted banking license, the smart phone only bank has been the trail blazer for Aussie neobanks launching home loans, energy switching, joint accounts, budgeting tools with new feature releases on an almost weekly basis.

With an ecosystem approach 86 400 partners with many Aussie Fintech including Zip, Uno, Data Action. And with the proposed sale to NAB, Tier One People believe this is a landmark day for Australian Fintech innovation.

Our good friend Lee Hatton from Afterpay joins Dexter Cousins as they discuss a world first partnership with Westpac.

Banking as a Service is real! Afterpay recently announced a landmark partnership with Westpac to provide a deposit account facility to Afterpay customers via the 10x/Westpac BaaS  platform.

It's only six weeks since Lee was last on the show. Since then Afterpay has cemented their place as the jewel in Australia's Fintech crown, by becoming an ASX top 20 company.

And hitting new records with $2bn in underlying sales during the month of November!

It has been an incredible year for Nick Molnar, Anthony Eisen and the Afterpay team. Lee talks about 2020 highlights and what we can expect to see in 2021.

Dexter Cousins chats to Tim Cameron Australia Country Head, Transferwise on the FinTech Australia Podcast.

Dexter Cousins is joined by Melissa Widner, CEO of Lighter Capital, the pioneer and leader in revenue based financing for tech start ups and scale ups.  Seattle based Lighter Capital is backed by NAB and Silicon Valley Bank as well as US based VCs.   

Previously Melissa was the Managing Director of NAB Ventures, the VC arm of the National Australia Bank and a General Partner at Seattle based SeaPoint Ventures.  

She was the founder and CEO of 7Software, a Silicon Valley based enterprise software company acquired by Concur (Nasdaq: CNQR, acquired by SAP).  She was also the CEO of Northwest Industrial Supply.  Under her leadership, both companies generated over a 10X return to investors.  

Melissa is also the co-founder and Chairperson of Sydney based Heads Over Heels, an organisation that supports women entrepreneurs running companies with high growth potential. 

Melissa served as a lecturer at the University of Washington's Graduate School of Business where she taught courses on venture capital and entrepreneurship. She was previously on the board of the AIC (AVCAL) and has served on the boards of several venture backed technology companies in both the US and Australia.
