    First Fruits, God's Sacrifice

FT7 explores living a godly, unapologetically masculine life for Christ. In this episode, our consultant of ancient wisdom, Terril, guides us through the Feast of First Fruits, through loving sacrifice, and through the profound art of loving your neighbor. Get ready for a powerful journey into the heart of manhood and spirituality as FT7 addresses the unpopular issue of tithing in relation to First Fruits. FT7 also explores the realm of taxes and caring for others. Can government handle your financial responsibility for your neighbor? FT7 doesn't think so.

    Rooty Tooty Wicked Fruity

    Rooty Tooty Wicked Fruity

I have read through the Bible a few times, and I think I only saw the Lord Jesus curse something one time.  Jesus approached a fig tree, seeing no fruit on it, He cursed the tree and it withered and died.  Yikes, I know this isn't in His word unless it was important.  A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree, bad fruit.  What does it look like?  Your kids, the seeds you plant in peoples lives, your prayer life... The word says remain in Him, He is the vine and we are the branches, the branches that bear fruit as long as we remain in Him, WOW!!

God also wants our first fruits, He wants us to love the giver more than the gift.  By putting Him first in your life, things change, fruit appears, good fruit, big beautiful God sized fruit, delicious.

Trust in Him, remain in Him and you won't be able to help bearing fruit, Wicked Good Fruit!

Hope you enjoy my Thoughtful Ramblings.

    Love, Michelle

What’s Meaningful About Not Mixing Milk and Meat? (Kashrut Part 2)

What’s Meaningful About Not Mixing Milk and Meat? (Kashrut Part 2)

What’s meaningful about not mixing milk and meat? Observant Jews who follow the Torah know that cheeseburgers are forbidden… but do you ever stop to ask why? What’s the problem with adding a slice of cheese to your hamburger? Why is it so important to God that we abstain? Is it some kind of test, that God wants us to not eating certain yummy things to prove that we’re committed to the Torah? Is it that God wants to make it extra complicated to keep kosher, so Jews will be more likely to socialize only with others who also keep the Torah? Is it a law that has no reason at all? Is it none of the above?

Imu Shalev and Beth Lesch explore this aspect of the laws of keeping kosher, delving deep into the Torah verse that instructs us “not to cook a baby goat in its mother’s milk.” Weaving together textual analysis, personal reflection, and joyful conversation, they arrive at a surprising and beautiful theory about the meaning of this law. Come along on the journey with them, and come away with an energizing new perspective on what it means to keep kosher.

This episode is the second in a three-part series exploring the topic of kashrut. (Part 1 is “What’s Meaningful About Keeping Kosher?”) Stay tuned for a future episode on the distinction between kosher and non-kosher animals.

Sacrifices in the Old Testament Part 1

In this episode of Bible Backdrop, we'll look at the first two sacrifices and go into a few details regarding each one.

    74. Easter and the Cultic Calendar

Episode 74 -  Easter and the Cultic Calendar

April 7, 2022 - Host: Dr. Gregory Hall

It's an Easter special! In this episode we consider the Jewish cultic calendar, which includes the feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits. These divinely instituted assemblies are closely connected to the Christian celebration of Easter. We also introduce and examine a literary connection (regarding the gain harvest) which is often ignored by our modern English translations.

First Fruits Bikkurim - Why is the wave offering rarely talked about?

First Fruits Bikkurim - Why is the wave offering rarely talked about?

First Fruits or Bikkurim is after Passover and before Pentecost or Shavuot, 7 weeks or 50 days. The wave offering is a Korban or qorban, how does this relate to our day in reference to Christianity? The wave offering is a very important offering among all the offerings of the priesthood offered to God. Since there is no Temple or Levitical Priesthood, it makes a lot of sense but what does this offering actually mean? How is this offering a tithe?

    Quote from "Youth's Instructor"
    “I am the resurrection, and the life.” He who had said, “I lay down My life, that I might take it again,” came forth from the grave to life that was in Himself. Humanity died: divinity did not die. In His divinity, Christ possessed the power to break the bonds of death. He declares that He has life in Himself to quicken whom He will.   {YI August 4, 1898, par. 1}
