What is UP guys! We're back! The playoff race has heated up considerably, and a couple key contenders are facing down the barrel of an early summer golf trip. Can Vegas pull it together in time? Can LA hold on? Are the Arizona Coyotes still a flaming pile of trash? These are the type of hard hitting question the boys tackle this week. With the playoffs around the corner, of course we're starting to see the injuries pile up. Which key injuries do the boys think will make the difference come playoff time, and which teams have the best plug-and-play replacements? Teams signing NCAA talent seem to be doing something right in this regard. As you might be able to tell, we were on a heater this week. Plenty to talk about, and next time you hear from us it'll be playoff prediction time so fasten your seatbelts because the business end of the NHL season is here!

Well, it's trade deadline week! The boys recorded shortly after the 3pm trade deadline on Monday and ran through all the big moves from the past few days. We have a bunch of contenders adding pieces, draft picks flying left right and centre, and Kevin Weekes reporting trades from the Moon! Listen in to find out who we think won deadline day, where cup contenders stand in comparison to pre-deadline, and what we think of how high the pending UFA market was set this year! We dive into the details of the NHL refs' latest gaffes and discuss what the league can do to fix an ongoing issue that only seems to be getting worse. With free agency starting this week we have plenty of massive free agent signings to update you on and a few big time trades as well. With all these roster changes the league is going to be a very different place on opening night than it was last season! With Arizona pulling themselves out of the depths with some smart moves this offseason, The Pond has switched its dumpster fire watch to Buffalo, where the boys sound off on the management of Jack Eichel's neck injury. We also have some less fortunate storylines we had to touch on this week. The Evander Kane gambling story has some new twists and turns, and the Logan Mailloux situation in Montreal deserved a second look from the guys this week. Enjoy episode 54 of The Pond!

The Riverhounds wrapped their season with their last home game in a NIL DRAW. They played Atlanta U 2 to 1-1 a draw. The last game of the regular season is at the NY Red Bulls 2. The Riverhounds are going to end up in the 3rd position going into the playoffs. In PGA Tour news, the 2018-2019 season is underway. Kevin Tway won the Safeway Open in Napa Valley. The tour heads to the far East to Kuala Lumpur on the west course. Only a few big names are on the move right now, but it's still fun to watch. We have the Brewers/Dodgers and the Astros/Red Sox in the MLB CS. This will line up for a great WS division. Previous division series were one-sided. Murray is out with a concussion. MR Wilson is still suspended. Gritty has been out and about. The Caps lit up Fleury. WPIAL run down. In NCAA news, WVU rolled over Kansas and is #6 headed to Iowa. PSU had a buy week and now heads to Michigan State. Pitt had a nice OT win over The Orangeman and head to South Bend to take on the Irish. Notre Dame picked up a nice win over VT in prime-time with Pitt coming to town. Steelers had a big win. It's fantasy football time!
