Gregory Iron sits down with the inspirational Ryan Harkins, winner of Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race,” drummer for hardcore band "Trappist" and co-owner of Los Angeles pro wrestling and heavy metal themed restaurant “Grill Em’ All.”
Ryan talks with Greg about his passion for hardcore music, deathmatch wrestling, cooking and how he overcame his addiction to alcohol to create one of the most well-known restaurants in California.
Ryan talks about discovering pro wrestling via the WWF’s “Rock N’ Wrestling” Connection and the Hulkamania Workout set, how meeting his best friend Matt led to attending independent wrestling events in Cleveland, falling in love with deathmatch wrestling through seeing guys like Mad Man Pondo and Onita, Matt’s pursuit of pro wrestling training and Ryan’s start on the hardcore scene, comparing being a punk musician to being an independent wrestler, moving to California with Matt to start a food truck, how running a food truck is as territorial as wrestling, participating on Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” during its first season, having the balls to pursue ones goals, guilty pleasure bands, his favorite wrestlers, the importance of mental health, how being on the verge of cirrhosis led to him pursuing sobriety to save his life, what makes the perfect burger, and Greg reveals to Ryan how all pro wrestlers love Creed.
Before the podcast, Greg is HALF HOT AND PISSED OFF as he chats with co-host Aaron Bauer and BURIES the terrible promoter that owes him money, as well as the awful “pro” wrestler he had to work with on the promoters event, and how this pro wrestler mocked Greg’s physical disability. Aaron talks about his friendship with FMW deathmatch wrestler BADBOY Hido, and tells a hilarious story about how Hido had to tell an indie wrestler what his girlfriend’s Kanji tattoo actually meant.
