    S6E5 - Food: A Language For All

    S6E5 - Food: A Language For All

So we spent a ton of time talking about the steak that we prepared put eventually get into a deeper discussion about a Language that everyone knows in some way, shape, fashion, or form. We can communicate our love, grief, dreams, and experiences through food. We have the opportunity to open up to one another and share our lives when we eat together. It is a time for laughter, tears, and self-observation. Food is a universal language that we all speak, regardless of our cultural or linguistic background. When we explore different food traditions and customs, we can gain a deeper understanding of each other and the world we live in.

How does eating well improve your mental health?

Eating well helps give you more energy. It also helps you sleep better, improves your concentration and, you guessed it, keep a healthy headspace. There is some evidence that: a healthy diet (high in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes; moderate amounts of poultry, eggs, and dairy products; and only occasional red meat) is associated with a reduced risk of depression. omega-3 fats can improve mental health. Several nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin B12, B9 (folate), and zinc, can cause symptoms of depression and dementia such as low mood, fatigue, cognitive decline, and irritability.
