In Joshua 2 we learn about the “Braveheart” of Rahab (episode links below).  

 Two spies were sent by Joshua to survey Jericho before the Israelites would take the land. Rahab the harlot risked her life to hide these spies, saving their lives. She chose to be brave instead of faint-hearted when the time came to step up. Because of her courage and faith, she and her entire family were saved. Rahab received honorable mention years later in Hebrews.

As we study the life of Ruth, a “Loyal Woman” in the Old Testament, we’re encouraged to remain faithful and loyal through challenges. In that, there is reward.

 When Ruth’s husband died, she chose to stay by her mother-in-law’s side, even to follow her into a foreign country. Indeed, God had a good plan for her – she married Boaz, Naomie’s relative and perpetuated the lineage through King David, eventually to Jesus Christ.

We can find encouragement to maintain courageous faith in the Lord to fulfill our purpose, as Jehosheba did when she became the “Rescuer” of baby Joash.

 In this episode we look to 2 Kings 11 and 2 Chronicles 22 for the story of a wicked family line being broken, ultimately to cause a good king to rise up. It took Jehosheba’s obedience for such a time as this to preserve the lineage of King David to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

To “Take a Stand” in today’s world involves a focus on the Lord and His Kingdom, with an awareness of the potential impact of each decision made.

 In this episode, we touch on the Spiritual law of sowing and reaping. We see how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego took a stand (Daniel 3). 

 Within my books, “A New Song Rises Up!” and “STAND With Your Armor On” are examples of people taking a stand through their storms.

In this episode, Queen Esther realized her purpose, though dangerous, was necessary “For Such a Time as This,” to save the Jews in that Kingdom. 

 Esther remained in consistent, faithful prayer as she bravely took required steps. We each have a purpose or call to do something specific in a time and season. Can we emulate Esther’s faithful prayer-life and bravery?
