Be Smart About Releasing Your Music in 2023

Make the most of your motivation, the best way to release your music in 2023 is to plan it out ahead of time, when motivation is at its peak!

Download the music release plan template https://www.dottedeight.com/artist

Once we've released the music we move on to the next thing. we no longer feel like posting about it, we feel like we've posted too much about our new release, or we don't want to bother people anymore with it. So... We end up with great plans that were never executed.I suggest in this video that you plan out your entire release during your peak of motivation, this will most likely be the weeks prior to release, when your super excited! When you're itching to for people to hear it!
If you're able to, automation the process as well, so you can get out of your own way, and make sure the promotion happens, regardless of how you feel.

I help musicians become recognised artists though a podcast and YouTube channel called from musician to artist. I can through the life cycle of the music artist

    2. Performance
    3. Songwriting
    4. Recording

Did You Know You Can Practise Releasing Your Music? AND GET BETTER!

Did You Know You Can Practise Releasing Your Music? AND GET BETTER!

We can actually improve on releasing music! It's a creative expression just like our music, but so often we see it is a black and white concept, either it works or it doesn't, I'm either good at it, or I'm not.
In this episode I chat about how we should be releasing often, because like everything else in life, we can improve, we can get better the more we practice it, the more we figure out what works well for us, and what we can improve on for next time!

Create A Central Place To Engage Your Music Fans

Create A Central Place To Engage Your Music Fans

We want to turn likes in music fans, subscribes into ticket sales, in order to do this we need a central place to engage our music fans, a home base for your audience.

We're good at throwing content out and tailoring that to specific social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) but all of those have limitations when it comes to actual selling your music experiences, In this video I chat about the concept of using these platforms to drive people to your home base, your central hub. To create actual dedicated fans of your music.

How You Can Easily Find New Fans For Your Music

How You Can Easily Find New Fans For Your Music

Platforms like TikTok and YouTube are set up to easily find you new fans for your music, they're based on algorithms, which means they are working for you to find the people interested in your music. I love imagine dragons, so every time I open up one of these platforms I have imagine dragons content flooding my feed. And not just from the offical Imagine dragons, but of any any channels or profiles doing anything to do with Imagine dragons.
Moral of the story, make sure your music content is in algorithm based platforms like TokTok and YouTube.

Songwriting tip! It's all about the VIBE

Songwriting tip! It's all about the VIBE

Creating the vibe during your songwriting stage will help you point you in the right direction. I believe it will help you to finish writing your songs, not just start writing your songs. I've been songwriting like this for a while now, and the clear direction it provides makes it a really valuable songwriting technique, and should certainly be one of your favourite tools to write a song. From here you can write a melody, you can write chords, you can write rhythms, and you can write harmonies
