TPPP 71: The Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island

What could be scarier than a hotel, right? Well, what about a hotel that is haunted with ghosts, has the longest front porch we've ever heard of, and has a dress code? Have we scared you enough yet? Well, then you're not going to want to miss this episode on The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan.

Mackinac ( Pronounced Mack - in  - aw) island was once the most sacred of burial ground for tribes in the area. Lisa covers a large part of that in her history and how it has become now a hotel on an island that doesn't allow cars. Jake tells us all about a ghost in this hotel that doesn't like people being too loud, even when you're under the covers. And Davis tells us all about black cats and gives us another witchy anthem.

This episode is the final of our haunted Michigan series thanks to our local witch Hannah. Next up is October, the spookiest of the months for most, and we are incredibly excited to get you into this month with an awesome episode. The 71st episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast. The Front Porch Prayer (Edited Version)

Almighty Father, bless our neighbors. May they know times of peace and prosperity, may they be healthy in body and mind, and may they know joy in their relationships with family and friends. (Jeremiah 29:4-7)

Lord Jesus Christ, teach us to love our neighbors. Give us eyes to see them as you see them, hearts to serve them in their need, and courage to offer care and conversation as we are able. (Mark 10:25-37)

Holy Spirit, move in the lives of our neighbors. Give them an awareness of their need for you, strengthen them in times of trouble, and speak words of hope to their hearts. (John 16:5-15)

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we lift up our neighbors to you. Pour out on them your joy and love and hope. Amen.

FPC 239: Sick Heart & Head

FPC 239: Sick Heart & Head

As we begin in Isaiah we see a problem right away, a sickness....I have it at time, and so do you? What happens when our heads and hearts grow sick and weary to the truth of God?  We will either repent or run away.

Isaiah 1:5 Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted.

Matt and Adam BACK ON THE FRONT PORCH

Matt and Adam BACK ON THE FRONT PORCH

This week we have a JOYFUL celebration of an episode because Matt and Adam are back on an actual front porch! We've got birdsong, we've got trains in the distance, we've got the creak of the porch swing AND we've got Adam and Matt doing what they do best- playing live music and talking about taking the time to enjoy the little things that mean the most to us as we come out of the season of Covid.

Editors note: I left this episode pretty raw! I want to invite you to take a minute and image yourself pulling up a chair onto Adam's porch to listen in on this conversation. I invite you to share in the laughter and joy of this episode!
