We rented the all-new 2020 Toyota Highlander SUV this week, and give you our first impressions after taking it for a spin at the Consumer Reports test track. We also discuss whether underbody rustproofing and studded tires (or lack thereof) are must-have equipment for driving in the snow and ice this winter. Other topics include how manufacturers determine their original equipment tires, the importance of proper child seat fitment, and what is one car we would love, if not for a critical misstep.

Bill is going solo this weekend but going to cover what he is expecting at the HPDE event with NASA Great Lakes at Pitt Race.  Having raced here earlier this year, it may have helped, but we shall see.  Hopefully the brakes will not catch on fire this time.  Bill is driving a 2017 Toyota 86 TRD this weekend for the third time ever on a track.  And hopefully home after Sunday, lol.

We give our first impressions of the much anticipated return of the Toyota Supra, and discuss how to compares with the Supras of the past. Testing is complete on the 2019 BMW Z4, and we talk about how it performed in the tests here at our track. We also answer audience questions about the Hyundai sunroof class action lawsuit, heavy duty pickup trucks, and why new cars are ditching the traditional emergency brake for an electronic e-brake.

Jake and Tom talk about final test results for the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Colorado, recorded while driving around the track in our F-150 2.7-liter. While the F-150's engineering is revolutionary, the driving experience winds up being surprisingly mundane and truck-like, ultimately costing the truck points in our tests. Likewise, the Colorado finally gives the compact truck market a modern competitor, but it too has a host of flaws. How much those flaws matter to individuals winds up being a point of discussion, revolving around yet another viewer asking about buying a Mazda6.
