Bill Gothard created the Advanced Training Institute and the Institute of Basic Life Principles, abusive ministries that shaped the framework of most homeschool curriculum in the 80s & 90s. Through his position, Gothard was able to put in place a system of abusive practices throughout the homes of many of his followers, which helped lay the groundwork for sexual, mental, and physical abuse of women, girls, and young people in particular. An incredible amount of young women and men who worked closely with Gothard have accused him of sexual and emotional abuse, and after taking a closer look at him and his life, we have no reason to doubt their credibility. Join us as we discuss the man, the cult, and the survivors of Bill Gothard and his ministry.
