On September 19, 2021, the body of Gabrielle Venora Petito was found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping area in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. Coroners ruled her death a homicide and said she’d died from being strangled to death by human force. Prior to her death, Gabby had been on a cross-country road trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie, who was later found dead by way of suicide. A notebook with a confession was found with his body….

Gabby Petito was a 22 year old woman who was chasing her dreams of traveling across the United States and sharing her adventures, travels, and lifestyle ideas and hacks via social media.  She was well on her way to making it a reality when her life was tragically cut short by the very companion, her partner in life, that she brought along on her journey.  It is a story that captivated us as we waited on pins and needles for answers as the search for Gabby...and her killer...carried on for weeks.

In our season 3 premiere, we invite Jia Wertz back to the show to discuss a case covered in her new podcast series, "Speaking Of Crime". 

Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner were a married couple who were murdered near Moab, Utah in August 2021. The women were last seen shortly after midnight on August 14 after a night out with friends. A few days later, a family friend went looking for them and found them dead at their campsite with multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, the women mentioned to their friends that there was a "creepy guy" lingering near their campsite in the few days prior, so this logically seems like the first person of interest. But who is this "creepy guy?"

Kylen's father Sean-Paul sprung into action in the early days of the investigation and was able to create a list of 17 people who could be considered suspects, and he even found a set of keys near the crime scene. All these leads have been turned over to law enforcement, who have given the family nothing in return about where these leads have taken the investigation.

We speak with Jia in-depth about this unsolved case as well as its connection to the biggest true crime case in recent decades: the murder of Gabby Petito.

Liz is in a great mood, however Bree had a shit day. Bree also talks about how Penelope deals with stressful situations and how her and Sam are trying to help P to handle better.  Its starting to get better but it has definitely been a work in progress. 

Bree also talks about how she had a weird day off because she could lay in bed and watch rerun tv but she could not sleep when she had the time with an empty house. Just too exhausted to sleep.  Liz also talks about how she deals with waking up early on the weekends now.

Liz then gives her final decision on the job she had been talking about and that she had interviewed for… and lets just say its gonna be a hard no.  And Bree shares a TikTok she saw about people at their jobs and how they should react to no pay raise in the most boss ass way. 

Of course the girls had to talk about all the drama about Kanye West on social media the last couple weeks. From Pete Davidson, to Kid Cudi, to Billie Elish, and everyone in between, nobody is safe from the war path Kanye has started. This topic leads into Bree and Liz’s thoughts on Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s inappropriate social media posts. Bree and Liz have two VERY different ideas as to why the older women are getting with these younger rockstar men. 

Then dating gets brought up and the girls talk about the struggles that come with dating now. They could not be happier to be in a relationship/married. There are so many expectations from people now that there never was before. The dating stories are endless and it seems like a lot of the expectations are sexual. Liz talks about her lack of dating life before her husband Christian, but also why she was on any dating apps at all. 

The Brian Laundrie autopsy report came out and Bree and Liz have a lot of questions about it and are not convinced that he is actually dead. 

The girls had to do a quick recap of their favorite reality tv shows.  And finally they share their favorites of the week.

Tragedy befell a New Mexico film set when actor Alec Baldwin fired a projectile from a gun that killed "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on Oct. 21. 

On Oct. 27, the Santa Fe County sheriff and the Santa Fe District Attorney said their investigations are ongoing and that they have not ruled out criminal charges against anyone on the set. 

Also, remains found on Oct. 20 in a Florida reserve have been confirmed as Brian Laundrie. Laundrie was the only person of interest in his fiancee Gabby Petito's homicide. Petitio's body was found in Wyoming in December.
