Conversation #112 | The Cost Of Being A Woman: Special Women's History Month Episode

Conversation #112 | The Cost Of Being A Woman: Special Women's History Month Episode

March is National Women's History Month, so I wanted to make a special episode focused on the cost of being a woman and dissect the disparities women experience due to the PINK Tax.

The PINK Tax refers to gender-based pricing, where women pay more for the same products and services made for men.  Yup, it's a trip, and I got a lot to say about it, so tune in to see how much more women pay for personal care products, clothing, and health care, and some solutions women should consider to make more money and stretch their money to afford their needs.

Getting Even: Why Women Aren't Paid Like Men and What to Do About It

Getting Even: Why Women Aren't Paid Like Men and What to Do About It
The number of women in the workforce is increasing, more women than men are earning college degrees and the number of female executives continues to rise. Yet women are still only earning an average of 77 cents on the dollar compared to men. Evelyn Murphy is a former Massachusetts Lt. Governor who is now president of the WAGE (Women Are Getting Even) Project in Boston. She joins Aaron and Wendy on this week's edition of Salary Talk, and discusses the all-important topic of gender discrimination as it relates to the wage gap in America. If you're a woman---or especially if you're a man who supervises female employees---this podcast is an enlightening look at how we intentionally and subconsciously allow the wage gap to persist, and also what steps we can take to fix it.
