    S5 E3: Traders and Troublemakers

The party learns the name and a little history of the boy they saved, as well as the situation in the desert before sending him off south to Duskhollow. They continue their trek northeast and, when they take a break for a meal, run into a group of travelers. Aware that another confrontation with the guards is possible, Trix takes them up on their offer to trade textiles for some of the group’s dried meat. However, the offer is rescinded when the travelers realize Eight is a construct and not a person in armor. They hurriedly leave the group puzzled, hurt, and without goods.

They continue onward, until eventually they come to a large crossroad where a building called The Greywater Inn is bustling with activity. Eight takes Jimothy and Bessie to the stable and locks up the cart so Trix and Rou can get some food. While eating, they strike up a conversation with a nearby family of Gnomes who share that they're headed to Duskhollow to see the sights. As the conversation comes to an end, Trix spies a suspicious looking individual in the crowd. However, it’s an announcement from the door of the inn that is more concerning.

    S5 E2: Shots Fired

CW: Minor gun violence. Please skip 2:30 to 3:02, and 5:00 to 5:42 if this would be triggering for you. Your safety is important to us.

The guard has drawn a strange weapon on the party, and attempts to take control of the situation by firing it into the air. A loud bang echoes and the guard levels the weapon at the closest to him, which is Rou. Trix shoots an arrow to disarm the guard, but unfortunately he gets a shot off and hits Rou before dropping the weapon.

Once Eight confirms Rou is not fatally wounded, they level their spoon and their spell forces the guard farther away from the mysterious weapon. As the guard is shoved forward, Rou shoots out an arm and catches him below his jaw. The guard is knocked over and seems to surrender once he sits up, his hands lacing behind his head. Eight demands the guard take his companion and leave, and despite Trix’s disapproval the guard leaves as instructed.

The group attends to Rou’s wound, and when they inspect the weapon they determine it’s the newest form of technology on Baukora - a gun. Free from the threat of the guard, the party turns their attention to the young boy. While impressed by how they handled the guard, he is skeptical of them but follows Trix back to Eight and Rou. It eventually dawns on Eight and Rou that this boy might be their biggest lead to date.

The party has realized that two of the riders are guards and they’re chasing a young boy. Trix stops one of the guards by shooting his horse. The second is unhorsed by a daring Rou, who is then forced to grapple with the stranger. Eight, meanwhile, causes the earth beneath them to shift until a wall is erected, stopping the boy from fleeing further.

Trix takes the opportunity to try and get the boy to understand they mean no harm. Eight heals the horse and soon realizes the guard that was downed is dead. Rou attempts to intimidate the remaining guard by letting his wolfish growl out, and at first he seems cowed. However, upon hearing his companion is dead pulls a weapon and prepares to fight.

    S4 E36: The Dragon Strikes

    S4 E36: The Dragon Strikes

The party enjoys a sumptuous breakfast before leaving the palace. Priya takes a moment to personally thank the party, once again apologizing for her deceptions, before heading home. Armed with cult uniforms, fresh supplies and rested donkeys, they set onto the road that will lead them to the Cragsward Mountains.

Moving slowly after a late night of celebrations, Rou takes the reins while Trix and a hungover Eight try to get some rest in the cart. Hoping that Garac or Eriluc might have insight into the Order of Tannyth, Trix checks in and updates them on the next steps. However, they are disappointed to find out that neither has any insight into the situation.

Up ahead, the party spies a dust cloud being kicked up by horses charging down the road toward them. As Rou maneuvers the cart off the road, Eight receives a series of distressed messages from Viktor. Kidohlva is under attack. While they ponder the messages, Trix looks out the window to see that astride the horses are a pair of guards and a teen boy fleeing ahead of them.

As the group leaves the witch’s hut, Rou tries again to garner information from Trix about their past. Trix claims they know nothing of what the witch was talking about and assures Rou she probably is just playing with them. Continuing their journey back to the palace, Rou takes the opportunity to address Eight, who has appeared more melancholy since Ari’s arrival.

Later that day, they arrive at the palace and deliver the vial to Sultan Akbar. They watch as he drinks the contents and is pleased to showcase his abilities have returned. Once the trade is completed, as promised, the Sultan shares what he has learned from his Spymaster about the Order of Tannyth. One of the most important items of note is that the group is planning something big, though the Sultan’s spies have yet to determine what.

CW: Blood. We mention blood and make reference to drawing it, without detail. However, if this might be triggering to you, please skip 33:03 to 34:36. Your safety and enjoyment is important to us.

The rabbit that had caused Eight’s spoon to light up transforms into a woman with brown skin and black hair tied in ribbons, as well as a rabbit fur wrap around her shoulders. As she listens to the group’s reason for their intrusion into her home, she mixes various oils and essences into a wooden bowl. The smells suggest it is an ointment of some sort, and their suspicions are confirmed when the witch offers it to Rou for his wounds.

Getting to business, the witch bluntly tells them that the cost for the antidote the Sultan seeks is high. She is not interested in cash, or even the bejeweled sword sent with them for trade. She would rather take blood or memories in exchange. Though they can’t be sure what it will be used for, Rou and Trix offer drops of their own blood and Eight gives up an old memory. However, despite the strangeness of the whole encounter, it isn’t until they leave that the witch makes them feel uneasy.

    S4 E33: Into the Fire

    S4 E33: Into the Fire

The group, surrounded by a dense fog, begins to hear echoing whispers in the air around them. They’re called liars, thieves and murderers. When they discover that the voice responds to their assertions that they are not those things, they reveal their purpose that they wish to move forward and cause no harm. “Catch me if you can” is the response before the voice goes silent.

As they attempt to find their original trail, Trix makes the suggestion that the voice may be the witch and Rou asks the disembodied voice. The only response is a laugh and the sound of tinkling bells. When Eight calls out that they wish to offer the witch something in trade, the fog begins to thin. Ahead of them is a hut, surrounded by gardens, goats and wandering rabbits. They enter the hut, eyes scanning for traps and tricks.

S4 E32: Out of the Frying Pan

S4 E32: Out of the Frying Pan

Upon separating from Ari, the group enters the forest and begins to search for the witch. It is an old growth forest filled with energies that can be felt prickling along the skin. Lost in his thoughts regarding his erstwhile friend, Rou absentmindedly pushes forward. As they wander, nearly aimlessly, Trix takes the opportunity to try and get Garac and Eriluc to interact. They find success when they realize touching the gems together allows the pair to carry on a conversation with each other.

Eight, meanwhile, is focused on Ari’s words and what that might mean for their future as Rou’s friend. They spend their time pouting and moping, while Rou and Trix figure out what to do about the sword. Suddenly, the group stumbles upon a bubbling, black, oozing pit. Realizing it is large and deep, they decide to circumvent it rather than trudge through it. Eight, trailing behind, is soon ensnared as the ooze comes to life.

Ari has engaged Rou in combat, lurching at their old friend in wolf form. She tumbles into him and pushes him to the ground, snarling and scraping claws against his armor. While the two werewolves tumble in the dirt, Eight is left in utter shock and tries to talk them down. Trix, on the other hand, takes the opportunity to knock an arrow and attempt to help their new friend.

Blows and words continue to be thrown throughout the fight, Rou doing his best to avoid attacking Ari while she vents their anger and frustration. Seeing Ari is vulnerable, Trix takes their shot. Senses heightened, Rou hears the arrow let loose and maneuvers to block it. When it strikes, Rou falls and Eight creates a barrier to protect their friend from the attacker.

However, seeing Rou fall brings Ari to their senses. Separated by the magical barrier, she is forced to come clean about their emotions, rather than using claws and teeth. When it’s time to go their separate ways, Rou brings them into a hug before she leaves. While their friendship isn’t completely repaired, the two werewolves leave on better terms.

Their constant aggression and belittling of his choices, however, leads him to stand up for himself, Eight and Trix. When he tries to appeal to Ari’s former innocent self that she lunges in attack.

Dressed in new finery, the group finds that the palace is decorated with fountains, fish tanks in the floor and hundreds of lanterns. Trumpets sound and the Sultan enters, inviting his guests to partake in the food and wine that is circulating. Priya takes them to pay homage and it is revealed she is in fact the Sultan’s niece, a precious member of the royal family. Sultan Akbar apologizes for the subterfuge, claiming that he needed to judge them for himself before asking a favor of them.

Their suspicions justified, Trix refuses to partake in the food for fear of poison. They admonish Rou for sharing their true purpose with Priya and, after Eight confirms the food isn’t poisoned, sulkily agrees to grab some food before they leave if the meeting with the Sultan goes well.

The group discusses whether or not Eriluc can be trusted and freed, and agree to first see if they can verify he’s actually the one from their list.

Turning conversation to more personal matters, Rou tries to get some information about Trix’s past. Unfortunately for Rou, Trix dodges the question at every turn. When the owner interrupts to tell them their time is up in the sauna, they find Eight’s hive has disappeared.
