    session #084 – CLSR

Having a music affair with electrocaïne since long and behind some of our notable releases, the podcast anniversary series features CLSR, one who’s always bringing you steps closer to the world he creates with his music. CLSR is the alter-ego of Franck Valat, producer and DJ taking back from the late 90’s, known for his insanely-extensive amount of music he has been releasing. On this session, he talks to us on his relation to the hip hop genre; about how he produced with the help of tapes and to those who influenced him; and also about his take on the mix and how he fetched some gems for you to aurally dwell on.

THE YBBI SHOW #014 | Tribute to Poorman Dre & Poorman Studio (6/11/2008)

THE YBBI SHOW #014 | Tribute to Poorman Dre & Poorman Studio (6/11/2008)
There is no way to have a "YBBI Show" in any country without an interview/hightlight/tribute to Poorman Dre of Poorman Productions. (Richmond CA 1994) I began work on my second project the album "5.0 REASONS (Fifty Reasons)". I met Poorman Dre in my search for an affordable studio with good sound. quality Poorman Dre and I were introduced through the producer Big Park of Ashy Knuckles Productions. Big Park was working nights at K-Lou Studio. Big Park took me to Poorman Productions. Poorman Dre would engineer and mix the project, also produce the tracks "5.0 Reasons" and "3D's". We built a constructive relationship around the project, now known around the world as a classic album of Golden-Era Bay Area G-Funk. Eventually, Poorman Dre would offer to me space in the new location to operate my company, Travlyrics Productions & Graphics Design. The goal was to become a one-stop shop for the artist seeking to create retail CDs, Cassettes and Vynil. From 1995 to 2002, I watched Poorman Dre put together a thousand great records ... Bay Funk, G-Funk, G-Rap, R&B, Soul, Pop, Salsa, and New Bay. Many of the records and graphics were not released or lost due to confusion of street business. It is truly a damn shame. With that said, this podcast includes several records to survive the ring of fire. Enjoy.     Playlist Includes: • YBBI (Ya Brotha Black Ice, fka: Ya Boy Black Ice) • Rinnessy (@Rinnessy) • Lady Lust • Mr. Kidnap • Mack Magic Mike • Dap Daniel • Naldo Keith • Mr. Freejack • Montel Money of Trunk Hustle • Erase-E • STN • Societiez Creation • and of course ... Poorman Dre.
