Between October 1977 and February 1978, with a nickname originating from the fact that many of the victims' bodies were discovered in the hills surrounding the city, the Hillside Stranglers terrorized the Los Angeles greater metro area, raping and strangling ten young women and girls.  Generally posing as police officers, serial killing cousins Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono were originally believed to be just one man. What led to these men coming together to kidnap, rape, and kill? How did they get caught? And what happened to them after their arrests?

In this episode of the Crack House Chronicles Donnie and Dale discuss the disappearance of Alicia Navarro who was last seen in Glendale, Arizona on September 15, 2019. At 1:00 a.m. she came downstairs for a glass of water and asked her mother why she was still awake. Her mother didn't think much of this and went to sleep. When her mother woke up at 7:00 a.m., the back door was open, chairs were placed against a brick wall in the backyard and there were shoe prints matching Alicia's sneakers. It appeared she'd used the chairs to climb over the wall.

We all need rest. And God made us that way. Yet many of us live our lives thinking that rest is a sign of weakness or poor stewardship. But is it? In this episode we delve into the importance of rest, looking at the Biblical teaching of Sabbath and considering this discipleship posture of physical, emotional, and spiritual rest.

This might be the first episode to get me death threats. The Turkish government does NOT like being accused of genocide, and neither do many of its citizens. But during WW1, genocide is exactly what the Young Turks orchestrated. Roughly 1.5 million Armenians were killed. And between 1900 - 1923, up to 4.3 million Armenian, Greek, Assyrian, and other smaller ethnic groups of Christian were massacred by the Ottoman Empire and their successors committed to the racist and xenophobic ideology of Pan-Turkism. Today's story is a crazy one. The craziest part about it is that it is not more well known. And it is not well known primarily because of Turkey's consistent and constant denial that it ever happened. It is literally illegal in Turkey to accuse the Turkish government of having committed genocide. They have cut off relations with other nations for accusing them of genocide. It's a topic that needs to be talked about more and I hope you are as fascinated by today's information as I am.
