The Ringer's Bryan Curtis On College Football Playoff | Last Word On Sports Media Podcast
In addtion to being a tremendous writer and host on sports, Bryan is also an alum of the Texas Longhorns and a huge college football fan. So, it seems natural to discuss the controversies around the final four team playoff for 2023 that will move to 12 team playoff next year.
In specific, Bryan weighs in on how badly Florida State, unbeaten ACC champs at 13-0, was snubbed by being left out this year, specficially for Texas and Alabama, who both had a loss. Was part of the mis-treatment that FSU angered ESPN and the ACC by threatening to leave their conference due to lack of revenue, etc. as the season heightened? Specifically, did ESPN's massive influence play the biggest role in leaving the Noles out, Bryan gives his takes.
Also, will an expanded playoff kill the interest and enthusiasm at the end of the regular season and conference championship games, because now, 12 teams at the top know that they are in the playoff?
The guys debate that, too.
It's all from this conversation with Bryan Curtis of TheRinger.com on the "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spreaker, Spotify, Google, etc.

CFB Playoff Snubs FSU + Deion "SI Sports Person?" And Analysts That Won't Criticize | LWOS Media Podcast
T.J. is joined by Jonathan Grella, former NFL and LIV Golf Tour Communications official, who now runs his own media/marketing company out of Washington D.C.
They go ovver the CFP and what went on and the motives behind. Then, they talk Pro Football Hall of Famer now turned College Football coach Deion Sanders getting the Sports Illustrated "Sports Person of the Year" despite his team remarkably flaming out and failing by losing eight of its last nine games? How has might SI fallen, incluiding using AI writers? It's a Joke,
The boys also discuss why analysts from all big time sports on TV, especially, won't criticize or take stands about games, players or situations. Jonathan has thoughts on what those reasons now are that we get sterile or neutered takes, instead of real opinions and comments?
T.J finishes with some eye opening NFL TV numbers in the ratings, as well.
