EP. 31- Gregory Iron "Interviewed" By Aaron Bauer

EP. 31- Gregory Iron "Interviewed" By Aaron Bauer

Aaron Bauer conducts an "interview" with Gregory Iron -- interview used loosely as some questions are great, while others are absurd.

Aaron starts out hot with a VERY personal question, and follows up with more tame ones like: How did Greg come up with using Bobby Brown's "On Our Own" as theme song, and what was his alternative pick? Besides Hulk Hogan, who were Greg's favorite WWF Superstars and tag teams in his first few years as a fan? What does Greg want to do with his life after wrestling? How does a Greg Iron workout work exactly?

Greg also reads a series of creepy messages from a fan about a special match and reveals who he would kill, marry, and kiss when given the choices of three of his closest friends.. Johnny Gargano, Zach Gowen, and Candice LeRae. These questions and many more are answered!

EP. 16- One Leg, No Problems: Zach Gowen Dares To Defy

EP. 16- One Leg, No Problems: Zach Gowen Dares To Defy

Gregory Iron sits down with one the individuals that inspired him to be a pro wrestler -- his tag team partner in The Handicapped Heroes and one of his best friends -- Zach Gowen.

You'll hear Zach talk about how he dealt with cancer and leg amputation at the age of 8 years old, how Ric Flair, Sabu, Rey Mysterio inspired him to wrestle, his short stint in TNA back in 2002 and how he was recruited into Vince Russo's SEX stable, seeing Hulk Hogan butt ass naked during his first night in WWE, knocking Brock Lesnar out, his mythical backstage heat in WWE, how and why he was fired from WWE, how he was a dick to Greg the first couple of times he met him, and his descent into drug addiction. And just how bad did Zach want Sable? We discuss that in this episode.

A part two of the interview will be available on the new Iron-On Wrestling Patreon, with over a half hour of additional stories from Zach and Greg. Hear about Gowen's recovery, the formation of The Handicapped Heroes, Gowen and Iron's speaking careers and more. Additional content will be appearing on the Patreon in the next couple of weeks so sign up now:

Before the interview, Greg and Aaron Bauer discuss a wrestling psychology conversation between Tommy Dreamer and The Undertaker, Greg talks about his experience this past week doing a Make-A-Wish and working in front of over 3,000 people inside of The Pepsi Center in Denver -- the same building that Gowen wrestled Mr. McMahon in back in 2003 -- and Aaron talks about relating to Gowen's drug addiction as he touches on his own addiction to prescription pills back 10 years ago.

Episode 37 - Ty Gowen Talking Haunt ME, Runes, and The Paranormal

    Welcome to Weird Web Radio!

    This episode features Ty Gowen!

Ty is one of the cast and crew of the Paranormal Series Haunt Me. This show is my favorite of all the avaiable paranormal investigation shows available. Why? They are a great team, genuine people, and they use occult methods with their investigations! Ty uses Runes. We all know those are near and dear to my own heart.

This episode even features some information about Haunt ME that Ty says he never told anywhere else!

The Haunt Me site says Ty in The Analyst:

With an audio recorder at his side and a K-2 meter at the ready, Ty focuses on grounding mysteries in an approachable way. Striving to translate the world of weird into something tangible, he travels through strange locations with his shield up and mind open.

He is also listed among the crew as a Producer and Location Scout for the show.

    MN.26.05.1982 EDXC Lesotho

    MN.26.05.1982 EDXC Lesotho
This edition of the programme is from the early series of Media Network. We were very much focused on the Falkands War at the time, and this programme was a catch-up show to report on other things. Richard Ginbey was a broadcaster who worked in South Africa, New Zealand, and Namibia. I think he was unique in recording and compiling what he heard on his shortwave radio. In this edition he traces the history of broadcasting in Lesotho. I think he used cassettes, so the editing must have been challenging. I think he cued up the clips and played them in to his live presentation. Some people may also remember him from the DX programme he ran on Radio Portugal - the Voice of the West. Wim van Amstel reports on his visit to the European DX Council in Cologne. This was an era when there was very little contact between shortwave broadcasters and their listeners. We also reviewed the Directory of World Band radio from Sony, concluding that it wasn't of much use. We spoke with Pat Gowen, G3IOR, (pictured) about the work of AMSAT and how the findings may have to modify our thoughts about radio propagation.  The programme concludes with Arthur Cushen who had been hearing some amazing transpacific signals on mediumwave.

    MN.02.07.1987. Iranian Clandestines

    MN.02.07.1987. Iranian Clandestines
We start this programme with news of a two-in-one RS-10 and RS-11 amateur radio satellite launched by the Russians. Pat Gowen reports. . Radio Moscow has started a summer programme for the tourists to the capital. Radio Danubius in Budapest is doing something similar. Poland objects to a new Israeli relay station for VOA (never built). India is upgrading its time signal station. Philips says its solved the problem of poor resolution on LCD displays. We also discuss radio broadcast radiation and it's danger to humans. Wim van Amstel explains.  We also discuss clandestine broadcasting to Iran, using transmitters in Iraq. We solve the mystery of the number station contest, and Anne Blair Gould reviews the Guide to Broadcasting Stations by Philip Darrington. The programme concludes with Arthur Cushen's DX report including a very clear recording of Radio Luxembourg signing off in English on 49 metres.

    MN.15.07.1993 DC777 and Phase Track

    MN.15.07.1993 DC777 and Phase Track
The date of this programme is only approximate. It contains an interesting interview with Pat Gowen, G3IOR, who has concerns about interference being caused to UoSAT by RAF s. We visit Reading to learn about the plans for a new Phase Track Receiver from Edward Vorster. Lou Josephs has spot on predictions about the AM Superradio from Denon. Dave Rosenthal reviews the Philips DC-777 for the in-dash reception of shortwave radio signals. He did an elaborate comparison while out on the open road. Corrections on the date? Please comment below.

    Interview with Zach Gowan

    Interview with Zach Gowan
Evening one and all. On a v2 wrestling special edition, Gavin and Adam were joined by the one time WWE superstar Zach Gowen. For those listeners to young to remember, Zach Gowen was in one of the most controversial storylines of the early 2000s, when he was propelled at just age 19 into a storyline which at one point involved Vince McMahon, Stephanie, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle and Big Show (and of course the worlds current greatest wrestler, Matt Hardy). In the storyline, Zach, who in real life had his left leg amputated at the age of 8, was pitted against Mr McMahon in what was billed by Vince as the first ever "real" handicap match. For anyone who has seen the footage, what Zach achieved in the ring was quite incredible. And that amazing story continues today, long after Zach last appeared in WWE and TNA. Today Zach competes on the independent circuit in a role that he himself admits is the perfect showcase for his talents. Teaming with Gregory Iron (himself suffering from cerebral palsy), Zach has forged an amazing story of how anyone can achieve their dreams when they try. The interview is a fascinating, uplifting story of how Zach has embraced his skills in a positive way to help inspire those around him. If you want to follow Zach on Twitter you can do here - @zachgowen A big thanks to Zach for taking the time to talk to us.
