This episode has long been in the making.

Back in August I shared on social media that I finally was having my mom on the show, though I kept it vague as to what she was coming on to talk about. This episode is a bit hard to describe what it's about, but at it's core it is a very personal episode for me. I'm joined by my Mom, my friend CJ and my friend Jamie to talk about the various memories of gaming growing up. And while this isn't focused solely on memories of a games, console or genre; it is focused on memories of gaming with friends.... kinda.

In the episode I call it gaming in a social space, if that even makes sense. This episode is filled with stories of times when I would play games outside of the standard living room setup or the classic game night sleepover. It is about the times when video games were bigger than the worlds they inhabited on the TV.

Lancé il y a maintenant 20 ans avec la première Xbox, la saga Halo fait actuellement son grand retour. Halo Infinite, disponible sur PC et les Xbox One, S et X, est le grand blockbuster de ce Noël 2021. Ce jeu de shoot à la première personne, ancré dans un univers de space opera militaire, connait un changement de paradigme en s'intégrant maintenant dans un vaste open world. Le studio 343 Industries a décidé d'innover afin de proposer une nouvelle expérience tout en répondant aux standards de l'époque. Impossible maintenant de ne pas avoir son monde ouvert à la Assassin's Creed, GTA, The Elder Scroll ou encore The Witcher quand on est une super franchise.

Avec 81 millions de jeux vidéo vendus dans le monde, Halo fait partie des poids lourds de l'industrie vidéoludique. Son héros, Master Chief, est quasiment un symbole de Microsoft et de sa console de jeu. Initialement imaginé et produit par le studio Bungie qui souhaite maintenant se concentrer sur Destiny, Halo continue d'être un excellent récit de science-fiction. Une adaptation en série est notamment prévue pour l'année 2022.
