Jeff Browning | Keys to Longevity in Ultrarunning, Hardrock 100, Optimized Fat Metabolism (OFM) Diet

My guest on this episode is Jeff Browning, one of the most durable and successful male athletes in American ultrarunning. In this conversation, we discussed some of the keys to his longevity, race stories from Hardrock, HURT 100, UTMB among others and how a change in diet to one of a more paleo/keto/OFM one helped with race recovery and much, much more.

Jeff ended up running a 26:17:43 at this year's Hardrock 100, good for 5th place overall at 50 years of age.

In this episode, I sat down with ultra athlete Zach Miller talking running and racing, coming back from injury and some of his overall life philosophy. The conversation picks up where we last saw Zach in his film as a caretaker at Barr Camp to a now, a life on the road in his converted bus traveling through North America. We cover our summer at Hardrock, uncertainty around coming back from his injury, the pros and cons of social media, the recent passing of his grandmother and her legacy and much more.

(Postponed release by two weeks due to protests)

Honored to speak with Canadian and Arcteryx athlete Adam Campbell (38:19). He has been a hugely successful ultrarunner who has suffered some tragic events. One nearly cost him his life when in August of 2016, he fell off a mountain during an FKT attempt. But the biggest tragedy occurred in January of 2020 when he lost his wife Laura "LK" Kosakoski from a ski accident. How does one find the strength and courage to move on? We get into it in our chat. Also, past guest and coach Jason Koop comes on (6:22) to speak and memorialize his friend, noted author and podcaster David Clark.
