Ultra-violent action: The Night Comes for Us

Ultra-violent action: The Night Comes for Us

In this week’s episode of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss 2018’s ultra-violent Indonesian action movie from director Timo Tjahjanto, The Night Comes for Us! Sam Raimi-style blood splatter that raises the stakes of the action! Incredible fight choreography! Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim, and Julie Estelle from The Raid movies! Disturbing and cool female assassins! Surprisingly emotional use of music, and one of the best examples of “no fate but what we make” since Terminator 2! Prepare to be thrilled, exhausted, and possibly disgusted!

In addition, Alex shares his spoiler-free thoughts on Skinamarink, Sick, The Whale, and Kids vs. Aliens!

You can find AIPT Movies on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends!

The AIPT Movies podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris, Tim Gardiner, and Matt Paul, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from three filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Instagram and Twitter @ActionHarris. Matt is a terrific artist that you can find on Instagram @no_wheres_ville. Tim can’t be found on social media because he doesn’t exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIPT Movies crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com, or you can find them on Twitter @AIPTmoviesPod.

Theme song is “We Got it Goin On” by Cobra Man.

Peter lives in Los Angeles, hails from the great state of Texas, and photographs subjects all over the world. Peter shoots lots of rock stars. He gets along with them because he’s a nice guy and not intimidating. This is confusing to Peter because he thinks he totally looks like a rock star.

Peter is a contributor to GQ, Rolling Stone, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine, and has shot campaigns for Coca-cola, Comedy Central and Bank of America, among others. His work has been recognized by American Photography and Communication Arts, but he would never tell you because he is too modest. Also, he once bowled a 225.
