    How can Conflict be Healthy?

    How can Conflict be Healthy?

It’s likely that most of us are under the impression that conflict is not a good thing, that it is never healthy. Christian counselor and author Dr. Gary Oliver joins host Don Hawkins with an important perspective on the subject.

Graduation whether from college or high school marks a new beginning for each participant. On our next segment, on the eve of a college commencement ceremony host Don Hawkins talks with missions authority Steve Saint about new beginnings

What's Love Got To Do With It?

What's Love Got To Do With It?

In Episode 21 Cam and Stephanie ask What’s Love Got To Do With It? No it’s not the song by Tina Turner, the “it” in the question is conflict. So what does love have to do with conflict? It seems like the two are so opposite that they would have nothing in common.

When conflict comes we can tend to believe it is the end of the relationship but it can actually be the deepening of a relationship if it is done in the right kind of love. Too often love fails because we have been taught a common love.

In the conversation that Jesus has with Peter in John 21 Stephanie breaks down for us the 3 different kinds of love that is found in the original language of scripture. We go on to discuss which of these types of love is needed to not take offense so that conflict is resolved not ignited by emotion.

If we have common love for each other then what happens when the thing we have in common is gone? We then need to grow in the “best interest” love which will deepen the relationship and give the other person the benefit of the doubt. This happens in marriages when just getting married and having kids is the common interest. So when the kids are grown and moved out the husband and wife feel estranged if they have not moved from the common interest love to the deeper love in their relationship.

Stephanie issues a challenge and we would like to hear from you about it.

We also want to remind you that there is so much more to our Broken Branches Series and if you and a small group want to go through it then contact us to find out more.

    Healthy Conflict Resolution Part 2

    Healthy Conflict Resolution Part 2

In part two of healthy conflict resolution Stephanie is joined again by Marci. They take a look at a roadmap for those who have been asked to mediate a conflict or are wanting to find a mediator for their conflict.

What are the next steps if you can't come to a resolution one on one? What should be the determining factors when choosing a third person as a mediator?

They discuss the roles of a mediator in conflict resolution from bringing clarity to prayer to keeping the conversation going in the right direction.

The conversation warps up with the discussion around the question "what is it that causes people to avoid conflict even though the result of conflict resolution creates a healthier relationship?"

    Healthy Conflict Resolution Part 1

    Healthy Conflict Resolution Part 1

In the last episode we ended with the question "Who gains by Christians living substandard to God's way?" and "Who gains from permanently separating the repentant sibling from our communities?"   In part one of the healthy conflict resolution within community episode Stephanie is joined by Marci. They look at what unhealthy conflict looks like in comparison to healthy conflict.

Throughout the episode they discuss what the end goal of healthy conflict is.

The episode is wrapped up with the discussion about bringing Holy Spirit into the conflict and actively listening to truly hear the other person.

Episode 2 takes a look at a roadmap for those who have been asked to mediate a conflict or are wanting to find a mediator for their conflict.

TRANSFORMATION, HEALTHY CONFLICT IN RELATIONSHIPS & MISTAKES

TRANSFORMATION, HEALTHY CONFLICT IN RELATIONSHIPS & MISTAKES

It's been a really transformative year and one of the key ingredients of that was allowing space for healthy conflict. To own mistakes. To learn and to really be me, knowing that the aligned people were gonna get it and love on me regardless. That being true to myself mattered as the alternative was too high. Authenticity matters.

In this podcast I discuss healthy conflict, being truth to ourselves, friendship breakdown, coming out as bisexual, having a healthy marriage even when we don't always agree because we have love and respect for each other. Both being willing to work on our own insecurities and shit. Asking for what we need and creating relationships that are like this healthy eco system rather than overgiving and people-pleasing and in the process hurting ourselves. Often when we are trying to be good wife, partner, friend etc or nice we are often just hurting ourselves as we get burnt out and resentful for doing that.  Loving ourselves, asking for what we need and taking responsibility is such a gamechanger.

Season 2 will be back in 2021.

TRUTH & TRANSFORMATION is an unpolished raw podcast about unearthing the crap that holds us back. Aimed at women who want it all and wanna feel damn good about themselves. We will talk openly about struggles, the highs and lows of life, sex, family, relationships, emotions, healing, mindset, dreams, spirituality, bisexuality, vulnerability, authenticity, money and so much more – in fact, nothing is really off the table. If it’s holding you back from the life you want we will talk about it.

If you wanna feel damn good we need to talk about the real stuff so that’s what we are doing here.

I believe when we love ourselves our life really transforms in the most beautiful ways and when we don’t love ourselves we don’t feel enough or fulfilled. This is a podcast to bridge the gap.

It’s a podcast about feeling good about you, living life in your truth, on your terms.

I'm your host Kirsty Dee, a self-love warrior, soon to be the author of the book Woo Wise Woman and an empowerment coach for women. I work with women to help them to love themselves and feel damn good about themselves.

Woo Wise Woman is a self- help book for women who desire to feel damn good about themselves. A no-BS approach to self-love guiding and empowering women to feel their best and to enjoy life. In a world where we are taught to fit in changing the rules changes your life. This is a book about owning your woo and living in your truth.

Perko's Podcast: Navigating The Personalities On Your Team w/ Fran Lamatinna Part Two

Perko's Podcast: Navigating The Personalities On Your Team w/ Fran Lamatinna Part Two
    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Here we want to help you reach your personal and professional goals without losing your soul. Our goal is to have the next generation of leaders reach their goals and at the same time say, "it is well with my soul."

Today's podcast is part two of my conversation with my good friend Fran Lamatinna. Fran is the President and Founder of Strategies for Greatness, an executive coaching practice that serves leaders of organizations and work teams to be more effective. Fran has been coaching since 1999, achieving her Master Coach Certification (MCC) and Board Certified Coach designation (BCC) in the early days of the profession. Recently, Fran completed a Doctorate in Professional Coaching and Human Development (PhD). She has established a niche with organizational leaders, especially in the areas of strategic planning, team effectiveness, assessments, and emotional intelligence.

Fran draws from over 20 years of business experience in the areas of marketing, sales/business development, finance, technology, operations and organizational development prior to entering the coaching profession. She founded and developed the women’s ministry at North Point Community Church in Atlanta Georgia under the leadership of Andy Stanley for 12 years, and she has been an active member and officer on the boards of many organisations.

If you missed last week’s episode make sure that you go back to listen to it as Fran and I discussed a basic overview of the DiSC personality assessment tool and how tools like this one can really help teams work together more effectively. Today we take a deeper dive into the DiSC profiles and look at how they manage conflict. Managing conflict is a vital part of leadership and reaching our goals, so I think this conversation will be incredibly helpful. Stick around to the end because Fran also takes a look at how our personalities impact our soul care. You don’t want to miss that part it is especially rich in content!
