How do you stand apart, in your authentic brilliance and STAND OUT as the world class leader that you are. You all see it. Ep. 12 | Finding Your Tribe | The Importance of Your Inner Circle

Ep. 12 | Finding Your Tribe | The Importance of Your Inner Circle

    Who's in your inner circle?
Such a big, important question to think about and really evaluate the questions... Who do we spend the most amount of time with? What type of impact do those people have on me? Do I want to continue to spend time with them?

We often times feel that we HAVE to tolerate certain, soul suckers in our lives. We think we have an obligation just because they have been a friend for a long time, or they are a family member, or we work with them. But guess what?! We actually DON’T have to tolerate them.

We do have the power to set boundaries, even if they are a co-worker, even if they have been a friend for a really long time, even if they are a family member.

"You need to surround yourself with those on the same mission as you. As much as people refuse to believe it, the people you surround yourself with, DO have an impact and influence on your life and choices." Heather Simpson

"As entrepreneurs, as female leaders… we run in very small packs. Sometimes so small, that we have the doubt, the “imposter syndrome”. We can only pull ourselves out of our own minds so many times and so quickly. Our mindset is a muscle that we do have to exercise daily… but one of the weights that our minds need to lift, is the support of others. " Heather Simpson

Finding a tribe can be easy… Finding your tribe, can be challenging. Join Heather on today's show as she guides you through the steps you can take to set boundaries in your life and relationships, and truly create the inner circle that you want for your life.

Ep. 9 | Kalia Garrido | Founder of Heathly Women Leaders

Ep. 9 | Kalia Garrido | Founder of Heathly Women Leaders

You want to meet this woman. Kalia Garrido,  wears multiple hats; wife, mother, self professed heath geek, avid outdoors person and founder multiple companies.
How did she get here? Drive and Determination. After moving from Boston to Miami, she found herself with a exciting career in the tech industry and raising her newborn son on her own.

"I was determined that my son would want for nothing and I was going to make it work. My career flourished because of it." Kalia shares.

She met her husband and made the move to the bustling tech industry of Denver. She worked her way to upper level management in corporate America, and hit the goals she had set for herself. The result? Realizing something was missing.

"I had been working my tail off to get there, and as soon as I hit it, is when I felt that I could look around and really take assessment of the scene that I was in, and be able to start to uncover, that actually wasn't for me. What would I do next?"

After a year of hitting her career goal, she left. "I'm going to give it all back. In fact, I will take nothing. It's time for me to start my own business."

She shares with us how leaving the comforts of a well paying job, can create fear. Overcoming fear, is something that she has set out to conquer. She emphasizes the importance of knowing yourself, so you can achieve what you are meant to do in this process.

"You have to take the time to know yourself, and that will make the difference in everything."

In the quest for knowing herself, she broadened her definition of health. She started implementing meditation and connecting with her spiritual health in combination from the active and healthy lifestyle she lives. She set out to answer the question, "What is the meaning of health?"

From here, this is where Healthy Women Leaders was born. A group collective of women, understanding health in all aspects of their lives. They are turning the thought of "Selfishness" into "Self Care" for women.

Join Kalia and her band of Healthy Women Leaders on this quest!
