    Danielle may hit a nerve or two in this episode when she highlights the RED FLAGS you cannot ignore when it comes to making 5-Star Employee Hires. 

     

    For most businesses, PAYROLL is your biggest expense and can be a significant drain on your profitability when you make a hiring mistake. 

     

    When your payroll is full of average, ho-hum, or worse employees – you need more labor at more expense to do the work that just one 5-Star Employee can accomplish. 

     

    Remember: If 5-Star Employees represent the top 15% of available talent – then statistically speaking, you will need to filter out 6 out of every 7 candidates to get that top 15% candidate. 

     

    You have to raise your RED FLAG alert level to max as you take candidates through your hiring gauntlet.

    Hiring Staff In A Post Pandemic World With Ira Wolfe - 187

    Although the pandemic has changed the way businesses operate, many companies have not updated the way they hire employees. In today's episode, I share a conversation with Ira Wolfe, author of the best-selling book Recruiting At The Age Of Googlization. We talk about the several things that you should keep in mind when hiring staff so you can keep up with our fast-changing world.

    Finding people with the right skills and attitude is not as easy as some may think. There are a lot of people out there, but less of the people are suited to performing at the level you expect them to. 

    What does it take to perform in today’s rapidly evolving companies? 

    First of all, people need to be able to embrace change. Grit and perseverance are useful, but they don’t help you adapt when circumstances require it. When you hire employees, look for people who are willing to adjust the way they operate.

    When hiring staff, you should also look for mental flexibility. The ability to hold two opposing ideas in your mind at the same time is crucial due to the many perspectives and approaches available to us.

    Then there’s unlearning. Try to recognize the things you are doing wrong in your hiring process. The faster you pinpoint those problem areas, the faster you will be able to make improvements.

    Hiring staff in itself is not very hard. But learning to hire employees who will fit the culture and systems of your organization is much more difficult. With these tips that Ira Wolfe and I discuss today, you can enhance your hiring process and get better people who will add more value to your company.
