The Holywell Trust will be hosting its Second Holywell Stew on Wednesday June 14th. Before you rush off to purchase your tickets for that event Roisin and Gerard present the proceedings from the inaugural event back in May. Listen to the pitches from four community action groups in the city; Pink Ladies Derry, La Dolce Vita, LegoDerry and Extern. We get the viewpoints of some of our investors on the night and a winner will take away the prize of over £500 to kick start their community action project. You can listen to the winner's story on how they prepared for the event and how the money will be used in our Holywell Podcast Episode 3.

Roisin O’Hagan and Gerard Deane return with a new edition of the Holywell Trust Podcast updating you on the work of the Holywell Trust and their partners. Since our last Holywell Podcast Roisin has taken over the role of Co-Ordinator at the North West Community Network. She discusses the work she has been undertaking since taking up the role, why local community groups should get behind the Community Network and upcoming events the NWCN will be hosting in the next few weeks. Eamonn Baker of Towards Understanding and Healing speaks with Gerard about a series of events the organisation will be hosting through the Holywell Trust Building including Darach MacDonald's book launch titled "Hard Border- Walking Through a Century of Irish Partition", The City of Jazz Festival, Good Relations Week events and a lunch time Testimony event featuring Victor Montgomery. Plus there is news regarding the most recent Brexit Focus Podcast and the application process for the next Holywell Stew.

Podcast was recorded in St. Augustine's Church in Derry on October 25th as part of a Holywell Trust Tea Time Event. Dr. Martin Stern as a 5 year old living in Holland was arrested with his one year old sister Erica and transported to Westerbork transit camp. From there he was transported to Theresienstadt. Listen to him describe some of his personal memories and the remarkable people he encountered who aided his survival in these camps.

This Special Podcast is the recording of Holywell Trust's Teatime Event titled "Brexit & Ireland: an Evening with Tony Connelly" held on November 21st. RTE's long-time Brussels correspondent Tony Connelly has been helping the public make sense of the implications of Brexit for Ireland. Now, in Brexit and Ireland, he tells the inside story of the Irish response and explores the many ways in which this political and economic earthquake is likely to play out.

Roisin O’Hagan and Gerard Deane return with another news blast regarding the work of the Holywell Trust Diverse City Community Partnership and its partners. The Foyle Women’s Information Network has launched the annual Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. Rosie McCann from the organisation joins us to discuss the positive impact the collection has had for local families and charities and how you can assist with its continued success. We will be previewing two Podcast Special that will be released for free download and streaming in the coming week. The first will be available from Thursday 7th December titled “Brexit & Ireland: An Evening with Tony Connelly” and the second special, available on Monday 11th December features Dr. Martin Stern, a holocaust survivor who details his experiences of his time in different concentration camps. Roisin and Gerard will also be discussing three upcoming events; The City Centre Forum Engagement on Good Relations (December 7th), Carols in the Courtyard (December 8th) and their Teatime Event with Key DCSDC Officers on December 13th.

Ann is the author of the recently launched publication "Pioneering Peace Builder: A History of Holywell Trust". The book takes an in-depth look at the work undertaken, the experiences and learning of the Holywell Trust team over the last 3 decades. You will also hear updates and information on how you can get involved in the next Holywell Stew event, the last of this current run, on June 28th and the Civic Activism Pop Up Cafe which recently passed and the next one on June 29th.

Gerard also gives us an update on the Holywell Stew event on Wednesday 24th May and how the public can get involved in this fantastic initiative. Maureen Hetherington joins us for a chat about the great work The Junction performs in building peace and good relations including the highly successful Ethical and Shared Remembering project. In the coming weeks the organisation will be launching a new publication titled “Reformed Always to be Reformed”, written by Johnston McMaster in the city and Maureen shares details of the book comparing how the impact of past reformations are still present today.

Roisin O’Hagan hosts the first of our Civic Activism Specials. On April 12th the Holywell Trust hosted a civic jury event around the theme of “A City with Youth in Mind”. Listen to evidence given by three individuals on matters young people from Derry/Londonderry feel is important to improve the quality of life in this city. Hear some unique ideas and suggestions as well as some disturbing facts and figures on the negative aspect of this city from a Mental Health, emigration and job front.

Presented by Roisin O'Hagan and Gerard Deane, discover a small aspect of the work carried by the community development/relations organisation in Derry/Londonderry. In this episode Eamonn Baker talks about the upcoming Holywell Trust Podcast Testimony series launching on Thursday 27th April. Later in the programme our presenters launch the Holywell Stew, an event adapted by the Detroit Soup model, inviting Community Projects to pitch at a dinner event to win money raised to launch their project.

Roisin McLaughlin and Gerard Deane return with a new addition of the Holywell Podcast, providing news on the work of the Holywell Trust Diverse City Community Partnership and its partners. In our previous episode back in March, Roisin had just assumed her new role with the North West Community Network. She updates us on her first 7 months in post and discusses the upcoming events the Network will be hosting in the coming week and months. Events such as a Big Lottery Fund's Empowering Young People Funding Information Session", a Funding Presentation for Diversity Groups hosted by the Heritage Lottery Fund and marking International Making Bread for Peace Day (in partnership with Towards Understanding & Healing). Gerard updates the listeners on the launch of the Holywell Trust's New Future Leaders Programme and the application details, news on the future of the Holywell Stew and the Theatre Peace Building Academy, building on the legacy of the Theatre of Witness. Earlier in the month, plans had been unveiled for a £60 million project aimed at transforming Derry's River Foyle into a global visitor attraction. Known as the Foyle River Gardens Project, our guest Eamonn Deane (chairman of the project) explains that it would involve regenerating the entire River Foyle bank north of Derry as far as Culmore Point offering play, relaxation, entertainment and learning.
