    The 56 King

I met Richard back in 2015 right after Dad and I moved here to Texas. We hit it off right off the bat. Richard was the first one to sign up for the Magazine, he really believed in it and would keep telling me to  to focus focus on it you got something here. Richard loved his wife with all his heart, and just loved the family life like his kids and grandkids. Richard was the one who got me to meet our friend the famous Joey V. I am honored that I had the chance to share some fun times with him. Richard was very passionate about his car and was so proud of it. He would tell Joey and I what new thing he did to it or what he was going to do to it. Richard we Miss you and we love you.

    WONDER GONE GOOD

    WONDER GONE GOOD
Have you lost your wonder? Scot Nery invites you to reconnect with it. From magic to juggling to life itself, Scot's relationship with wonder is what drives him, what fuels him, what gives him purpose. And he's definitely got the goods as he's the creator of Trip Advisor's #1 recommended show in Los Angeles, 'Boobie Trap.' This is a good conversation about believing in not just ourselves but also in the things we can and can not control. Isn't that what magic is all about? Hope you enjoy this back to good basics conversation about the good of wonder.

316 - “Back in Illinois” by Nancy Hays & The Heffernans

316 - “Back in Illinois” by Nancy Hays & The Heffernans

Nancy Hays is a singer/songwriter originally from central Illinois, who has recorded five albums and made five tours of the UK with her original country music. Nancy also opened for country icons including Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Glen Campbell and many others. Nancy's maternal roots were rural farmers from the Midwest. Nancy's best friend growing up was one of nine children from a large farm family. Between performances on the road with her band, Nancy would visit her best friend, Connie Wise. Back in Illinois was written about her fond memories of times spent on the Wise farm and also her thoughts of home, especially when far away. Many years later, three of Nancy's four children began performing with her under the name Nancy Hays & The Heffernans (Nancy's husband is Sean Heffernan). Nancy's other son, Eddie, creates the family music videos. Nancy decided to record Back in Illinois, with her extended family. Matthew plays fiddle and sings harmony and daughters Mary and Caroline provide harmony vocals. The song made its radio debut on iHeart Radio in 2019. It is produced by Nashville based producer, Randy Gardner.

Thanks to Lance Houston and iHeart Radio in Chicago for playing our song (as well as this program) and to Ed Heffernan for our lyric video and to Edward and Connie Wise for inspiration!

    A statement from Nancy:

"Back in Illinois is a song that I hope reminds others of their own hometown and country roots, recalling fond memories of loved ones, family and friends."
