Trash is a musician, designer, and tattoo artist who has been part of the Korean punk scene for two decades. Here, she talks about how she discovered underground subculture in her late teens and then watched it develop over the years. She describes the community's most important bands and people, as well as those who others might have forgotten along the way. The conversation also reveals how every time punk rock becomes mainstream in Korea something comes along to force it back underground. 

Much of my own twenties and thirties are a blur, but I played a lot of the same shows and venues with Trash. That she continues to keep the flame alive is a testament to her passion and desire for this scene.

My guest mix comes from Lewis Anthony. He is originally from the UK but currently resides in Seoul, South Korea. Lewis is an accomplished DJ and producer and has played around the city as well as releasing a number of EPs. In addition, Lewis created the Social Underground party series, one of the most successful underground house parties in Seoul. Although deep house can now be found at many venues around the city, Social Underground was one of the first places to play it and be successful before it caught on. When I was back in the US, I really missed the sights and sounds of Seoul. It was quite easy to find images and video but I really had a difficult time coming across the atmospheric sounds I was missing so much. Thus, the goal of this podcast was the fill that void. Hope you enjoy it!
