One on One with Coach Blu: Addressing Children's Mental Health

One on One with Coach Blu: Addressing Children's Mental Health
In this podcast we address the issues that can arise in your family after a tragic event or even in this case, after a false alarm with this shooter hoax. Talking to kids about tough topics can be difficult, but it's important to have open conversations and create an environment where family members feel comfortable sharing their experiences.  Think about the issues that are most relevant to your child's age and interests, and start a conversation about how you can support them through tough times. When kids are struggling, open communication is key. Talking openly about tough subjects with your kids can give you valuable insight into how they're feeling and what their struggles are. Whether you notice signs of depression or anxiety, there are many things you can do to help your kid feel supported and less alone. We'll cover how to spot the signs in your children and talk to them about it in a way that builds trust and strengthens relationships. If you suspect your child is struggling with something, it can be difficult to know how to approach the topic. But if you encourage your child to open up about what’s going on, it will help normalize those feelings and help them heal. Talking to kids about tough subjects isn’t easy. But it is important. Talking to your kids openly and honestly can help them learn how to navigate through tough times but also how to ask for help when they need it.
