    071. Strategy in Your Daily Routine with Rosie Yeo

    071. Strategy in Your Daily Routine with Rosie Yeo

💭 What is the one common mistake of organizations when it comes to strategy?

Our guest this week quoted Voltaire and said Le doute n'est pas une condition agréable, mais la certitude est une condition ridicule which means it is not comfortable to be unsure but it is absurd to be certain.

Rosie Yeo is the go-to strategist for boards, executive teams and business leaders because of her skill in helping people collectively imagine and achieve a better future. In this episode, Rosie talks about reducing your PowerPoint presentation to an accessory as opposed to a necessity during strategic planning sessions. Her challenge is to minimize your certainty and enter the boardroom ready to ask better questions to create a truly powerful strategy. In more than 20 years building her consulting business, she has worked with corporate, government and non-profit organizations in healthcare, financial services, infrastructure, tourism, FMCG and media. She designs and steers strategic planning and complex policy dialogues.

She shares that vision is at the heart of strategy that must be acted upon with regularity instead of being filed away and revisited after a year. Strategy must be anchored to a long-term vision developed by the leader in a way that will arouse the trust, creativity, and energy of the team. The big "why" of the organization must be connected and the leader to do it in a way that the organization can comprehend, accept, and adapt to as needed.

    069. Find Your Voice and Lead with Lindsay Tjepkema

💭 In today’s global community, how can you ensure that your own voice stands out above the rest? How do you create your unique brand of leadership that will leave a lasting legacy and genuinely foster connection?

Lindsay Tjepkema, CEO and co-founder of Casted, the first Amplified Marketing Platform and the only audio and video podcast solution designed for enterprise marketers, is our guest on today's episode. Lindsay discusses how to adapt business practices in the face of a pandemic, how to create compelling content, what it means to provide value, and most importantly, how to create human connection.

She goes on to tell us about her journey in founding her company and living by her mantra of being "boldly yourself". Leaders usually discover that the key to success is to "go with the flow" and avoid creating a stir. It can be easier for leaders to suppress their distinctive voice. In today's turbulent corporate world, many leaders become overwhelmed by the noise. When this happens, they begin to second-guess every decision they make and lose focus. Or tragically, maintain the status quo.
