Getting Ready To Say "I Do" (WALKING THE PATH)

Getting Ready To Say "I Do" (WALKING THE PATH)

All that we have been talking about over the past few weeks (singleness, dating, getting engaged), culminates in the step of "taking the plunge" and getting married.  The time leading up to this day and the days, weeks, and months following are very critical.  Several things discussed in the podcast and blog (available at www.derekcharlesjohnson.com) are the need to build a firm foundation in Christ and to develop good, godly habits even before going to the altar.  By taking the time to truly get to know each other and how one another ticks, there are certain potential disasters that can be avoided.  Find out each other's strengths and weaknesses.  Helpful tools can be personality tests, love language quizzes, and spiritual gift assessments.  Above all, it is grace that must be extended towards the other person.  Christ first imparted grace to us.  We must choose to do the same with our spouse.
