"Off Book, On The Record" (w/ Cody Rigsby)

"Off Book, On The Record" (w/ Cody Rigsby)

Jetlagged from their journey to Chromatica, Matt & Bowen still deliver a helluven ep. Because Cody Rigsby... IS THE BAR. BDE? More like 3CHE... Third Co-Host Energy! This u-NIQUE (!) episode of Las Cultch sees Matt, Bow & Cody take the readers, nay, the KATIES (you all have a new name) on quite a journey through culture. In fact, it's basically a culture catch-up! Covered: thoughts on Gaga's aforementioned Ball, Beyoncé's queer twirl about the dance floor with Renaissance and thoughts on the incredible album (of the year), what it's like to partner up with Cheryl Burke on Dancing With The Stars, Shania Twain's Netflix doc, first and best concerts, Britney's fedora-and-bare-feet impact on messy Southern gays, the loss of Anne Heche, what the Delta Skylounge gets so wrong, keeping it positive, recent Michelle Branch news, and how the straight community loves Vegas. Also, Cody's controversial and dangerous thoughts on Tayla Swiff, what it's like to be THEE Peloton instructor, Imogen Heap's influence on both "the girls" and Myspace culture, and the following questions: is it more "Disney Gay" to have a Mickey tattoo on your bicep or go to the parks once a month? Do YOU think this country knows what to do in an emergency? IS Be Real Over? Find out (kind of) THIS WEEK ON... Las Culturistas!!!

Clear the area for Imogen Heap's 'Speak for Yourself'

Clear the area for Imogen Heap's 'Speak for Yourself'

Techno-instrument inventor, West End composer and globally-renowned baby soother Imogen Heap has come a long way since her groundbreaking 2005 release Speak for Yourself, but we reckon it remains her queerest piece of work and we're about to tell you why.

Tales of Ariana Grande's latent veganism, keeping TERFs out of Hogwarts and the most airtime Jason Derulo will ever get on Aural Fixation are just some of the delights that await you in this queersploration.

Kate Bush – Hounds of Love

Kate Bush – Hounds of Love

We’ve reached Cycle 5 of Aural Fixation, and what better way to celebrate than with a discussion on the woman that completes the quinfecta of Andy’s top bitches – the incomparable Miss Kate Bush.

A child prodigy with a penchant for dancing, karate and pianos, Bush released her first album The Kick Inside aged 19 (with some songs written when she was just a young teenager). From there, Bush parlayed her subsequent albums to firmly establish herself as British pop music’s sacred moonchild, before releasing her fifth studio album Hounds of Love in 1985.

Split into two sections; the first five tracks of Hounds of Love act as standalone tracks, with the remainder subtitled “The Ninth Wave” telling the story of… well, you’ll just have to wait and hear.

Our accompanying playlist to this episode tells the tale of Kate Bush and her many descendants from Imogen Heap and Tori Amos, to ANOHNI and Goldfrapp (all coming soon to the pod, we prom).

Limited Appeal - A perverted mindfuck of neckwear

Limited Appeal - A perverted mindfuck of neckwear
Warren challenges team LA to answer this unresolved question: when does a scarf become a blanket? Does it have anything to do with wheels or posture? You'll have to listen to John stutter through a painful (although amusing) summary of the issues, but this precis quickly becomes inadequate, as we discover the nuances of this superficially simple, but actually intricate problem. In fact, although we do suggest some of the philosophical complexities, we may need your help to achieve a satisfying solution. Email us (maskedman@limitedappeal.net) with your suggestions!
