John 12: His Command is Eternal Life
John 12:44-50 (ESV)
Andrew and Edwin consider how Jesus sought authority for all His life and actions and the means by which He established that authority. Additionally, they discuss why that authority matters. Because what God authorizes leads to life.

Take Daily With Salt (Ep. 18)
You should not do everything written in your Bible.
Some things in the Bible are described as happening, not as an example to follow, but either as a simple description of fact or even as a warning of what NOT to do.
You should not assume everything you are led to infer from your Bible reading is accurate. In fact, the Bible tells us of at least one specific circumstance in which people "read between the lines" of what he was saying and drew a very wrong conclusion.
Today we look at Acts 2 and John 21 as examples that caution us to proceed with caution when trying to interpret or apply the Biblical text.

John 5: Even Jesus Can Do Nothing On His Own Authority
John 5:16-24 (LSB)
Andrew and Edwin notice Jesus's claims about personal authority. Surely, if anyone in all of human history had the right to act on His own authority, Jesus would be the one. But He didn't. Neither should we. In this episode, our hosts discuss how Jesus determined what the Father authorized.

#185 Implied Meaning in English
As you might know, English isn't like how we find it in textbooks. In day-to-day conversations, we often don't speak in full sentences, and so much of what we say is implied (this means, it's hinted at without actually saying it).
In this episode, I look at some examples of implied meaning or 'language ambiguity' and teach some phrases you can use in different situations.
