¿Qué son los Incoterms?
Este término que en español quiere decir “Términos de Comercio Internacional”, como su propio nombre indica son los términos y requisitos de una operación de compraventa internacional.

Los antecedentes formales se pueden remontar al siglo XIX, las Cortes Brintanicas se acuña el termino FOB en el año 1812, años más tarde, en 1890 se empezó a utilizar el término CIF (Cost Insurance and Freight).

En 1919 entraron en vigor las llamadas Definiciones Revisadas del Comercio Exterior Norteamericano que representaban estatutos comerciales, estos terminos solo aplicaban a empresas norteamericanas.

En 1936 nacen formalmente los incoterms como los conocemos actualmente, la primera versión de la Cámara de Comercio Internacional (ICC o International Chamber of Commerce, en inglés) incluyo solamente 6 incoterms.

LAS REGLAS INCOTERMS describen:
- Obligaciones: quién se ocupa de qué en la relación entre empresa vendedora y compradora.
- Riesgo: dónde y cuándo "entrega" el vendedor la mercancía. dónde se transmite.
- Costos: de qué costos es responsable cada parte como, transporte, embalaje, carga o descarga, y aquellos relacionados con las comprobaciones o los relativos a la seguridad.

Incoterms, or International Commercial Terms, are a set of contract terms for international freight delivery. While the word itself creates some mystique, they are in fact simple - entirely concerned with the delivery of goods, especially in an international environment.
