On today's episode we talk with Capt. Justin Leake of Panama City Inshore out of Panama City Beach, FL. We talk about fishing the beaches and Capt. Justin gives us great insight into how he fishes the beach and even the areas he looks for certain species. We also talk about the Cobia migration and the upcoming tarpon migration. The fishing is awesome in PCB right now and the good news is that it is only going to get better as water temps move into the 70's. 

On today's episode we talk to Capt. Jordan Todd of Saltwater Obsessions out of Port St Joe, FL. He walks us through his general purpose inshore rod and reel setup. We also talk about proper etiquette during the fast approaching tarpon season. Every local fishery seems to have their own set of unwritten rules that us non-locals aren't always aware of, some should be obvious, but others can be subjective, so It's nice to find out what some of the "unwritten rules" are for the Port St Joe area.

On today's episode we talk with Capt. Brant Peacher of Angler Up With Brant out of Pensacola, FL. He tells us about a recent trip to South Florida where he chased snook & tarpon and ended up getting pretty thick into the exotic species; Peacock Bass, Ciclids & Oscars that all thrive in the warm fresh water canals around the Naples, FL area. In keeping with the Angler Up tradition, he is cooking the Peacock Bass while we talk! Be sure to keep an eye out for the video that he should be putting out soon to see if it makes for good table fare.

On today's episode we talk to Capt. Brant Peacher or Angler Up With Brant out of Pensacola, FL. He tells us about a road trip he took to the "new" pier in PCB and the success he and some of the other anglers had there. We also hear a little more about a recent trip offshore and talk about the fun (and effort) that goes into fly casting. All in all, it sounds like things are moving in the right direction as we enter one of the sweet spots, where there are more fish available to target than most of us have time to fish. A great problem to have!

On today's episode, we talk with Capt. Lionel James of Lion's Tale Adventures out of Destin, FL. He tells us about an epic day of catching King Mackerel & an awesome night fishing trip in Pensacola for Bull Reds on the fly rod. He tells us the tactics he uses this time of the year when targeting Pompano on the beaches of PCB. He even shares a modification that he makes to a soft plastic bait to target both Pompano & Redfish on the beach. This episode is full of information on how to fish Pompano on the beach and the great news is that you don't have to have access to a boat to Pompano fish, you can do this right off the beach!

It's holding just below where it needs to be to really set the season off. Any time now the inshore bite should bust loose but it is dependent on the bait showing up in shallower water and the air temp staying warm over night. The good news is the fishing inshore is still good and will only get better as the water temps climb and stabilize. The even better news is that they are catching pompano & whiting in good numbers off the beach and the big schools of jacks are also around.

We discuss  how to pick the right tides for the right flats to sight fish redfish, we talk Tarpon migration (its too early but always fun to talk about) & we talk about the spring bite. It sounds like things are forging ahead and although this Easter weekend cold front will slow things down a little for a short amount of time, we should be past the point where a couple of cold nights shuts the fishing down for long. All good news for those of us that have been waiting the spring bite!

Spanish mackerel and some bait have moved in and there are still decent numbers of Redfish on shallow flats. We also talk a little about boats and boat upkeep & what to expect as the spring transition continues.

Capt. Brant tells us how he fishes the sheepshead bite this time of year and how he rigs up baits to get into their strike zone. We also talk about sight fishing pompano of the beach in Pensacola. Jordan also gives us some insight into the local Cobia fishery and we talk about some of the reasons it might have been in decline in recent years.
