    Timing is Everything: Part 2

    Timing is Everything: Part 2

In this podcast, Coach Frank reintroduces the topic of timing as it relates to the 3 main phases of a cyclists' annual training plan including lifting weights, building base, and high-intensity interval training. He explains in detail the ways athletes can line up these phases depending on what their race calendar looks like for the upcoming season. He also answers the question that athletes frequently ask at this time of the year, which is whether they should lift weights or start building up their base.

3' grezzi Ep. 221 Eliot, Goleador, Alessio

3' grezzi Ep. 221 Eliot, Goleador, Alessio

    TESTO TRASCRITTO (English translation below)
Hop! Allenati, ci vediamo presto: ti aspetto, ti aspetto, ti aspetto.

    EGLISH TRANSLATION
There is a beautiful poem by T.S. Eliot, one of my favorite poets, the poem is called "The lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock". The sentence says: "I have measured out my life with coffee spoons". Everyone measures life and passing time and things around, as they believe fit, my son, for example, as a means of reference for the things around him uses the Goleador lollies. Goleador do not exist in Australia, I've never seen them for sale, and he has always been fascinated every time we came to visit, oh well we live there, but when he was little and we came to visit he really liked Goleador, and the fact that they forced 10 cents, so we often find ourselves measuring things at 'how many Goleador': how many Goleador does this pen cost? This house, this car, how many Goleador? And then, how much space would it take to put all these hundreds of thousands of Goleador inside? Well, I have a friend who instead, he's Alessio, I told you about him in one of my previous 3 uncut podcasts, he is measuring his days by 'how many 3 uncut' podcasts. Yesterday he sent me a beautiful voice message, which I cannot play to you because, as you know, the characteristic of these three uncut minutes is that I don't do any editing, so to play you the message I 'd have to do a minimum of editing, anyway... trust me. He sent me this voice message where for the first 10 seconds you hear him panting, in fact I thought he mistakenly sent me a sexual message meant for someone else, and instead it's him running and using my 3 uncut podcast to pace his 'interval training' physical activity, in which you alternate a bit of running and then some rest. So now I think that he is at 2 X 3 uncut podcasts or 3 X 3 uncut podcasts, for a total of nine minutes of running and then three minutes of walking a little slower. There you go, he is going through his physical activity, his days to catch up that hundred episodes of 3 uncut podcasts that he still has to listen to, so that when he finally arrives in Cagliari, on vacation, in a few days, we will be able to look at each other and drink one, two or three beers and he'll be up to date with all the things that happened in my life since we last saw each other a few months ago. So Alessio go running, hop! Hop! Go training, and see you soon: I'll be waiting for you, I'll be waiting for you, I'll be waiting for you.
