Olive Hill Farm - Agriturismo in ITALY

This past fall I had the lovely opportunity to visit the Lazio province of #Italy and be introduced to Emma and Scott, owners of Olive Hill Sabina. This special olive farm just outside of Rome makes a great day trip or #weekend #getaway to learn all about the process from planting to harvest to tasting. A truly immersive experience.

Love in a Tuscan Kitchen with Sheryl Ness (Part 1)

Love in a Tuscan Kitchen with Sheryl Ness (Part 1)

"Everything around me gave me a feeling that I was at home, from the foods to the people and the unique landscape.  I was falling in love"  -  Sheryl Ness, Love in a Tuscan Kitchen

    Welcome to Episode #67,

Today I share a wonderful conversation with Sheryl Ness about her time in Tuscany and her memoir, Love in a Tuscan Kitchen: Savouring Life Through the Romance, Recipes and Traditions of Italy.

I think Sheryl’s story is very special because she had a connection to Italy without understanding exactly why.  But she followed the thread and the inkling, and something very interesting happened.  She found the one.  And it didn’t just happen in a linear or obvious way.  Her path lead her from one thing to the next, then it happened rather last minute, quite randomly, over a piece of chocolate cake!

There is so much I love about this book…Taking risks and following the heart’s needle, and really trusting the bigger picture, that something very beautiful wants to be revealed.  In this case, it turned into a great Tuscan adventure and one that continues to delight and surprise you.

Venice and the Art of Travel....The Padova to Paris Journey - Part 2

Venice and the Art of Travel....The Padova to Paris Journey - Part 2

"Open my heart, and you will see / Graved inside of it, Italy" - Robert Browning

Welcome to Episode #19:  Venezia, Venetia - Italy

Venice is the icing on the cake and should be sampled at least once in a lifetime or more if you are lucky.  Traveling to see this city built on over one hundred islands, linked by bridges and canals halfway between the rising and the setting sun never fails to excite and entice the curious traveler.

A family day walking this city to sample the delights of the Gothic and the Byzantine, the romance, the time worn elegance, the grand palazzi, the maze of alleyways, the bridges and the magic of the canals was a sweet thing.

Contemplation and wonder over travel narratives and thoughts on the art of travel.......... In truth an ever expanding world that one shall be musing over for some time.

    Enjoy.....
