The #LytesOut Podcast recently caught up with Brazilian fighting legend Johil DeOliviera.
DeOliveira is now fifty two, but he still looks terrific and he was happy to give his first full length interview to an English audience. Like in the mid-1990's when he fought in Brazil's rugged Vale Tudo circuit, DeOliveira still proudly carries the flag of Budokan Luta Livre.
We go through long career, including his famous rivalry with Jose 'Pele' Landi and his infamous run in PRIDE in-depth.
But it all started for Johil when he was 7 years old, when he started training at his father's Luta Livre Academy. His father's school had been opened since the 1960's and his father's partner was Joao Ricardo, Johil's head trainer throughout his MMA career. Let him tell you the rest...
