If Keep Swinging had a movie poster, Jake Burger would be featured  at the center of it. The Miami Marlins third baseman was drafted 11th overall in 2017 by the Chicago White Sox and signed for $3.1 million. What happened next is something no one could have predicted or even be able to prepare for. Burger suffered multiple ankle injuries shortly after making his professional baseball debut that led to 1,163 days without playing organized baseball. Bruce Levine and David Haugh opened their show by reacting to Cubs left-hander Drew Smyly flirting with a perfect game in his team's 13-0 win against the Dodgers on Friday afternoon. After that, they broke down the White Sox's late collapse in an 8-7 loss to the Rays on Friday. Later, White Sox slugger Jake Burger joined the show to discuss his hot hitting, new manager Pedro Grifol's impact and the club's tough 7-13 start to the season.

In the second hour, Mark Grote was joined by James Fegan of the Athletic to discuss White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech exiting in the first inning Sunday with right knee discomfort and the club losing twice in its three-game series against the Rangers over the weekend.
