    I Could Be Pitchcom

During a *real* no-hitter, Patti’s former forever BF Anthony Rendon homers from the left off of the “American Ohtani” and her other former forever BF Christian Yelich hits for his 3rd cycle vs the Reds. Pottymouth’s forever BF Juan Soto walks into history books once again. Mauricio Dubón and his childhood dream go to the Astros, James McCann is about to gain superpowers, and Josh Naylor earns his celly. Will Patti get an Adley call-up for her birthday? Kyle Tucker puts in a good day’s work, and the Royals are full of wit/Witt/Whit. Kumar Rocker is the best thing to happen to the ValleyCats since the Mayors’ Race.

Cuba and Curaçao make Serie del Caribe 2023, Pottymouth's Happy Place, even better! We cross train with an update on Britney Griner’s continued detention in Russia – please make this a big deal. And it isn’t championship season SOMEWHERE without your hosts going off on Games Seven vs Game Sevens.

We say “pocket-sized alien,” “Mark Wahlberg and a beer,'' and “The woodsy i invented all by myself.”

Jim McCann | How 1-800-Flowers Has Been Delivering Smiles for 45 Years

Jim McCann | How 1-800-Flowers Has Been Delivering Smiles for 45 Years

Jim McCann is the founder and chairman of 1-800-Flowers, one of the first companies to pioneer and popularize the use of both toll-free telephone numbers and Web sites in the early days of the Internet to sell goods and services directly to consumers.

What started as a flower shop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1976 has since grown into a publicly-traded company worth over $2 billion with thousands of employees.

    It's Sports Bras or Nothing

    It's Sports Bras or Nothing

The British Baseball Federation demonstrates exactly why women should be involved in every level of the development of a women’s baseball league. And causes us to state for the record that we will not work topless. We celebrate David Peralta, Eduardo Escobar, Anthony Rizzo and Freddie Freeman for bringing the fun. Joey Votto, Shane Bieber, and Vladdy (and his Daddy) reach some “Bench”marks. Roberto Alomar is banned from baseball and Patti’s heart just can’t take any more. Pottymouth wants the Twitter trolls to back off from Jess McCann. Pitchers getting personal with their K celebrations cause benches to clear in the Reds/Cubs series as well as the Mets/Phillies where Dominic Smith calls out Jose Alvarado and we agree with Joe Girardi more than once, stunning us both. The Disney Prince is a pottymouth and his mom does NOT approve.

On one hand, Atlanta’s Truist Park is going to 100% capacity, on the other, Fenway is hosting high school graduations, many parks are hosting university commencements, and Progressive Field has a prom. Get your #HoltOffCancer shirt, if you can get past the cowboy hat. The independent Pioneer League eliminates extra innings with hockey-style shoot-outs. We want Australia to get it together with women’s baseball, but acknowledge that at least they are trying. Honkbal. And Patti says Glen when she means Bryan.

    Damn, Bianca

    Damn, Bianca

The Red Sox hire Bianca Smith, the first Black woman coach in the MLB, who could not be more impressive. We may have to come up with a new boyfriend category. Smith played college softball, club baseball, and has degrees in sports law and sports management, preparing for when she’ll be a GM. Crosstraining with women’s hockey, the way we do, not only will the NWHL season be officiated by an all-female crew, the season will be played at Lake Placid’s historic Herb Brooks Arena and NBCSN will broadcast the February playoffs -- the first time the games will be carried nationally.

    San Diego
is throwing down with the Dodgers for sure -- signing Blake Snell and Yu Darvish in quick succession. Anticipate arm wrestling between your hosts for who gets the Padres pitching squad for the season.  MLB promises not to jump the line for COVID vaccines, bringing up parallels to the testing questions from last season.

Pottymouth leans toward the 30 year-old dads for her boyfriend picks, while Patti atones for last week by going all in for young players giving back in big ways. For the Mets, Pottymouth chooses newly signed Heart-and-hustle-y catcher James McCann, and Patti picks Dominic Smith, part of the Mets embarrassment of riches at first base. Angels SS, and former Cuban National team player, Jose Iglesias, newly acquired from the Os, finally catches Pottymouth’s attention. Young and motivated Angels outfielder Jo Adell, with a disappointing 2020 season and an amazing gift for community-building, is Patti’s pick. Please visit Baseball Generations, Smith’s LA-based organization, and the Jo Adell Foundation, to learn more about bringing baseball opportunities to underserved communities.

It’s playoff time in winter ball. Throw some money to Cespedes Family BBQ and they’ll tell you everything you need to know about LIDOM and then pass that cash right along to the Nelson Cruz’ Boomstick Foundation and The Paloma Project. That’s way more useful than spending money on Australian Baseball, where the Blue Sox aren’t even playing due to COVID, but Manny and Rachel continue to have a good time.

Your hosts will be hiding in the bunker this week as the wingnuts come to your Nation’s Capital. Wash your hands, wear your masks, watch your distance, and fight the man.
