    Announcements

This podcast episode is a short message for you about what's coming up with Pursuing Private Practice!

We have had a crazzyyyyyy few months. It honestly feels like we have all been working a lot over here as we are redeveloping our curriculum to reflect the different stages of business. This is honestly my zone of genius and I have LOVED every minute of it, as I truly feel this is what I am called to do!!!

But I did not practice what I preach and take inventory of my own energy that was needed to complete this major overhaul of a work project. For the past few months I have noticed some of my burnout tendencies coming on full force.

With that in mind, I can’t tell you all of my ideas yet, but please know that I will announce those things when we have final plans. I do have three things to tell you today that are official!

[Catch Up Series] Honoring Boundaries in Business

[Catch Up Series] Honoring Boundaries in Business

We’re kicking off 2022 with our traditional special podcast series to catch up with former podcast guests and hear about what they’ve been up to and lessons they’ve learned in the past year. So often, we set big goals and make plans, and then everything changes!

In this episode, we’re discussing boundaries. All three of our guests found themselves in different places in their businesses in 2021 where they had to really look at their priorities and decide what is and is not important to them, and how they can pivot and let go in order to honor their own business and personal boundaries.

My ED Recovery and Journey as a Dietitian

My ED Recovery and Journey as a Dietitian
Our work as anti-diet RDs makes such a difference in the world. But sometimes, it can feel lonely when there’s so much diet culture that we’re constantly fighting against.

This podcast episode is a little bit different. In this episode I address a lot of the traditional storytelling around becoming a dietitian in the first place. I talk about why I wanted to become a dietitian in the first place, my internship, my first job, and building my private practice. I also talk about my own eating disorder recovery in this episode, which feels vulnerable. But I know it will be valuable. I have learned so many things in recovery that apply to how I manage my businesses today, and I want to reflect on that and share that with you today.

Some of the topics discussed include:

    • My own eating disorder journey & recovery
    • My internship at Johns Hopkins and how that contributed to my eating disorder
    • Starting therapy & how the skills I learned translated to being able to starting a private practice

[Catch Up Series] Motherhood in Business

We’re kicking off 2022 with our traditional special podcast series to catch up with former podcast guests and hear about what they’ve been up to and lessons they’ve learned in the past year. So often, we set big goals and make plans, and then everything changes!

In this episode, we’re talking all about motherhood in business. All three of these guests are in different places in their motherhood journeys. Courtney is returning from maternity leave, Erica has been on maternity leave for 5 months now, and Taylor is pregnant and planning for maternity leave in the spring.

Motherhood definitely impacts business in great ways and in ways that can feel stressful. It’s so important to prepare for the transition as much as you can, while still knowing that every pregnancy and parenting journey is unique.

[Catch Up Series] Hiring for Your Business

We’re kicking off 2022 with our traditional special podcast series to catch up with former podcast guests and hear about what they’ve been up to and lessons they’ve learned in the past year. So often, we set big goals and make plans, and then everything changes! This episode is the second one in the 2022 series.

There is not one “right” way to hire support in your business, and this episode sheds light on that.
