    Come fly the toxic skies

    Come fly the toxic skies

An L.A. Times investigation found that jet engine oil can leak into the air supply of passenger planes, creating a toxic cocktail that can lead to health problems. It happens with an alarming frequency across all airlines — and that’s despite the airline industry and its regulators saying otherwise. The Times investigation just might result in real-world change.

    Host: Gustavo Arellano

Guests: L.A. Times investigations reporter Kiera Feldman

    56: The Jet Engine
Joseph is switching to ‘vacation mode’ and Dr. Carter shares stories about his fun adventures in Florida. In an interesting story of science news this week, researchers think they can accurately say that the Milky Way galaxy wobbles! In listener questions: what is acid rain? For the main topic, Rob tells us all about the jet engine! In the after show, Beequinox is back! Wow!

S1E26 Jet Engines, Collaborative Robots, & Flying | Seth Garrison

S1E26 Jet Engines, Collaborative Robots, & Flying | Seth Garrison

Seth started his career as an electrical engineer with Honeywell developing auxiliary power units (APUs) to control jet engines. As FAA regulations began requiring more and more “busywork” documentation he joined a small motion control & automation supplier called In Position Technologies (IP Tech) as a sales engineer. Seth has grown with IP Tech and is now a sales manager there helping engineering teams solve automation problems across the United States.
