Sorti en 1993, Tai-Chi Master est l'un des derniers films hongkongais réalisé par Yuen Woo-Ping, aussi connu comme chorégraphe de combat pour des réalisateurs comme Tsui Hark, Quentin Tarantino ou les soeurs Wachowski. Mettant en scène les plus grandes stars d'art-martiaux de l'époque, Jet Li et Michelle Yeoh, le film est un festival de combats et de scènes de voltige toutes plus impressionnantes et virtuoses les unes que les autres. Mais plus que cela, Tai-Chi Master est la démonstration de tout le talent de Yuen Woo-Ping, qui montre plus que jamais sa capacité à développer l'histoire et la spiritualité de ses personnages au travers de leurs combats. Notre coruscant présentateur Roman Dagbert reçoit donc l'habile Alexandre Farrugia pour parler de ce film qui est sans aucun doute la meilleur vitrine de son créateur !
