Segment: Interview with Si Spurrier and Aaron Campbell about Suicide Squad: Blaze #3

    • Si and Aaron, you've done horror before with Hellblazer, how is the horror different or the same in Suicide Squad Blaze?
    • In a story where Superman can die, is there any hope at all?
    • Something I found truly horrific aside from the monster or the talking shark, but the human faces of fear and grit. Aaron where do you find inspiration in these facial expressions?
    • Suicide Squad Blaze #2 goes hard killing a lot of heroes. Is it freeing knowing you can kill DC darlings?
    • With so many heroes dead, what should readers expect in issue 3 before foc this Sunday?
    • Now that we have two issues behind us so there's less chance to spoil, Aaron what has been the most fun to draw?
    • Does having more space to draw and write changed how you think about this story? Visually captions play in the dark well, for instance.
    • One of our main characters, Mike is codependent on another member of the team, Tanya, how does a character recover from being such an ass?
    • I’m fascinated by the use of color in the series, Jordie Bellaire colors this series but I was curious if you had thoughts on what the color story was going for?
    • A core dynamic of the team in SS: Blaze is how a bunch of total rookies are given abilities, if given the same abilities how would you respond?
    • Aaron, Si you're clearly working on all cylinders together, might you team up again soon?

Ep.15: X-Men: Fatal Attractions: Part 2 (Marvel Comics)

Ep.15: X-Men: Fatal Attractions: Part 2 (Marvel Comics)

Zach, and returning guest, TFD: Nerdcast co-host, Chad Smith, continue their discussion of  X-Men: Fatal Attractions!

Magneto and his followers have returned to begin another chapter in the on-going war between Charles Xavier's X-Men, and the Mutant Brotherhood who would seek to destroy humankind, to allow homosuperior to become the rulers of the Earth.

But this story is different. Lines between right and wrong, good and bad will be blurred, and Xavier and the others will have to make decisions that some might deem surprising.

This 1993 event commemorated the 30th anniversary of the X-Men, and would be the flagship story that took us out of the Chris Clairemont era, and into a new era for these beloved characters that would survive well over a decade.

Segment: Interview Dan Slott, writer of Tony Stark Iron Man, Fantastic Four, and coming soon Iron Man 2020

    • I recently got the chance to read the Spider-Man Magazine (Spider-Man Radioactive) collection and you have two stories in there, one featuring Mirage and another featuring Mesmero, were those characters you wanted to write or did they ask you to use them?
    • How do you go about generating new ideas or angles for storied characters like Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four?
    • Do you have a strong memory of any particular story that made you think “I can’t believe nobody else has touched this?”
    • Dawn of X has taken the world by storm and I have to ask, if you had a choice in a title/team would you take the job and what would it be?
    • Is the current story “Point of Origin” a story you’ve had in your cap for years?
    • At Fan EXPO Boston you showed me a few of the superhero designs for characters that defend Spyre, and now they’re out there. What’s it like creating a character that may (or may not depending on your story) last for decades in the Marvel universe?
    • You’re working with Christos Gage again on Iron Man 2020, I’m always curious how two writers collaborate whether they split up pages, or one does dialogue and another plot, what is your working relationship like?
    • Spider-Geddon, last year’s sequel to Spider-Verse, was drafted by Christos Gage from an unfinished script of yours and his. How much of that event’s DNA would you say is your original vision and how much is new?
    • As the writer of FF, do series like FF: Grimm Noir need to be approved by you?
    • If you had the opportunity to do the inverse of a Superior Spider-Man style story where a hero becomes a villain, which would it be?
    • What is your workspace like? What time of day do you typically do your writing? Is there something on your desk that inspires your writing?
    • Has social media changed the way you write or think about comics?
      • Do you ever shift a story or idea after gauging feedback you might read on the internet
      • Last but not least, is there anything you can tell us about Iron Man 2020?

Off topic top shelf: Dan Slott talks Mandalorian, The Crown, Ducktales and streaming services.

    The Real Jarid Mayo

    The Real Jarid Mayo
We often times idolize those that we look up to. But sometimes when we really get to know that person, we see that they are just a regular guy...or a average Joe...the CHILD-HATING MONSTER that we didn't know that we idolized. It's TRUE, I HEARD THE WHOLE THING!!!! One (if not both) of our hosts totally don't like kids and would rather live a long self-fulfilling life full of other people's children. What will we do with all this free time? Isn't it obvious? CUDDLE!!!!! That's right! We will CUDDLE while listening to Tina and doing the (patent-pending) Tina Mayo Workouts. We will CUDDLE while Jennifer takes her daily two hour naps. We will CUDDLE while we drown broken bunnies and nurse runts back to health. We will CUDDLE as we sit on the couch and correct Andy's misinformation about the Marvel U. We will CUDDLE while we play cards and guess animals and watch Charade and play charades and drink energy drinks and eat every two hours and workout once a day and read Storm comics and post on Facebook and watch the news and go to youth group and watch viral videos. THIS IS MARVEL 616 POLITICS, AND WE WILL CUDDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now seems as good a time as any to mention our sponsors. We are sponsored by DCBService.com. Get all your Marvel pre-orders for 40% off cover price. They even have specials and clearance issues for up to 70% off! And don't forget their sister site, InStockTrades.com. The 616 Christmas Blues

    The 616 Christmas Blues
It was a cold day that Andy's mouth swelled up...and an even colder day when Jarid's heater went out....mwuahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! But let's be serious for one second. My heart goes out to the guy...well, not that much (because he makes fun of me ALL THE TIME). But in this show, I got the last laugh. I finally beat Jarid Mayo at his own game: The Tina Awards. That's right. Oh, he'll deny me that quarter point I earned in the very beginning, but his deceit can only take him so far. His uppins will come. Mark my words!! That dastardly devient of destruction will not don the dark of dusk this day. Now besides the magnificent Tina Awards, we discuss the Promotions at Marvel, Black Panther coming to New York, the point of X-Men Legacy, and the Osborn mystery. And who can forget about our sponsor, DCBService.com? Get all your issues at heavily discounted prices, up to 40% off!!! So that about wraps up this merry time of fun and pizaz...(is that spelled right?) Oh, one more thing. Feel sorry for us. Seriously, no seriously. Jarid's heat went out and my teeth/mouth burst forth with the "Christmas Puss." With your sorrow, we grow stronger....feeding off of it as if it were an energy source, vibrant and pulsating with emotion and POWER. POWER!!!! Until next time, make yours Marvel 616 Politics!! (oh and don't forget our sponser DCBService.com)
