The Guardian Angels, The White Sox Hire Chris Getz, and Jasson Dominguez Among September Call-Ups

The Guardian Angels, The White Sox Hire Chris Getz, and Jasson Dominguez Among September Call-Ups

Three of the six Angels players that were put on waivers earlier this week (Giolito, Moore and Lopez) were claimed by the Cleveland Guardians, a team that is currently only five games behind the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. Jake and Jordan break down this move, and discuss other notable waiver claims such as Hunter Renfroe and Harrison Bader to the Reds, and Dominic Leone to Seattle. Then, the guys run through the latest September call-ups, headlined by the Yankees’ 20-year-old phenom Jasson Dominguez. Finally, the guys touch on Ronald Acuna Jr, Terrance Gore, Nebraska Women’s Volleyball, and sparkling white wine from 2015 in this weeks edition of The Good, The Bad, and The Uggla.

Mets first half glass is half full

Mets first half glass is half full

Doug Williams and Andy Martino deliver a new edition of the Shea Anything podcast presented by Verizon, as they focus on which players and positions the Mets could set their sights on as the MLB trade deadline approaches. Could a Josh Donaldson, Jose Berrios or Michael Pineda be in the cards as the front office monitors how Carlos Carrasco performs coming off his hamstring injury? Andy and Doug also go through a slew of Mets personnel now that we are halfway through the 2021 season to determine whether their season has been "half full" or "half empty."

Matt Harvey the Reliever, What it's Like to be Part of a No-Hitter, and Millar Hits Jeter's Vegas Golf Tourney

Matt Harvey the Reliever, What it's Like to be Part of a No-Hitter, and Millar Hits Jeter's Vegas Golf Tourney

Welcome to another edition of MLB Network's Intentional Talk: Caught Listening.

This week, Chris and Kevin kicked things off by recapping Millar's trip to Vegas, where he played in Derek Jeter's golf tournament. And as you may imagine, Kev had some great stories from the event. There was one involving Jimmy Rollins and a freestyle rapper, and then another about FaceTiming with Josh Donaldson. It'll all make sense when you listen.

Later on, the guys got a little serious and talked about the Matt Harvey situation. Can he make the best out of his stay in the bullpen?

Also, on the heels of Sean Manaea throwing a no-no for the A's, Kevin remembers what it was like being on both sides of a no hitter.

And finally, a debate as to how large a head start Chris would need to beat Dee Gordon in a race around the basepaths.

Baseball is Back! 2018 Predictions, World Series or Bust Teams, and We (almost) Interview Josh Donaldson

Baseball is Back! 2018 Predictions, World Series or Bust Teams, and We (almost) Interview Josh Donaldson

Welcome to the first ever MLB Intentional Talk: Caught Listening!

Tomorrow is the start of a new MLB season, so we figured today would be the start of a new MLB podcast--one you should listen to every week if you like your baseball with a side of shenanigans.

In episode one, Chris and Kevin talk:

    • Shohei Ohtani. Is he going to sink or swim in year one?
    • Stanton vs. Harper- Who is under more pressure to perform this season?
    • World Series or bust teams (there are a lot of them).

Also, the guys covered the defending World Series Champion Astros with KILT's Mike Meltser, made some predictions for 2018, and tried, unsuccessfully, to interview Josh Donaldson. Maybe next week.

Oh, and, on top of all that, Kevin did an A-Rod impression that was the Rolls Royce of A-Rod impressions. Truly incredible.

Thanks for taking this ride with us, and here's to baseball being back. It's going to be a fun year.
