    The Value of Memories

    The Value of Memories

In a powerful message, Bill Johnson reminds us of the importance of continuously remembering God's faithfulness in our lives. While it's easy to recall His greatness when the miraculous is present, it's the moments in between in which we tend to forget. Be encouraged to gratitude and reflection, recognizing that God's story is meant to be shared through generations, ultimately revealing His glory to the world. Let's commit to being a people who remember God's works and triumphs, shaping our perspective and history in Him, and proclaiming His name for all to know. Amen.

    Judges 6-7 | Can I Test God?

    Judges 6-7 | Can I Test God?

Judges 6-7 tells the story of Gideon, who was called by God to lead the Israelites in battle against the Midianites. Gideon was initially reluctant to trust God's plan and asked for multiple signs to confirm that God was truly with him.

In chapter 6, we learn that the Israelites were being oppressed by the Midianites, and Gideon was threshing wheat in secret when the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and called him to be a deliverer for Israel. Gideon expressed doubts and asked for multiple signs to confirm that it was really God who was speaking to him. Eventually, Gideon gathered an army of 32,000 men to face the Midianites.

However, God told Gideon that his army was too large and instructed him to send home anyone who was fearful or trembling. This left Gideon with only 10,000 men. But God still thought this number was too large and told Gideon to take the men down to the water to drink, and those who drank by lapping up the water like a dog were to be chosen to fight. This left Gideon with only 300 men.

In chapter 7, Gideon and his small army of 300 men surrounded the Midianite camp at night and defeated them with trumpets, jars, and torches. The Midianites panicked and turned on each other, and the Israelites were victorious.

Throughout this story, Gideon was initially reluctant to trust God's plan and asked for multiple signs to confirm that God was really with him. However, in the end, he obeyed God and led the Israelites to victory with a small, but faithful army.

Lessons from An Unlikely Hero Part 2

Lessons from An Unlikely Hero Part 2

On today’s broadcast we continue the story of Gideon. This historic account of this Godly man provides us the opportunity to evaluate our faith. We say we trust the Lord but do we really? As Christians, God has called us to certain things. And our response, like Gideon’s, is often doubt and uncertainty. But as we’ll learn, God in His grace comes down to our level, to bring us higher.

    Against All Odds

    Against All Odds
Gideon, like many of us, doubted his own abilities. He had suffered so many defeats and failures that he even put God to the test--not once but three times. In the Bible story, Gideon is introduced threshing grain in a winepress, a pit in the ground, so the marauding Midianites did not see him. God appeared to Gideon as an angel and said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." Gideon is an Old Testament Bible character everyone can identify with. This powerful sermon will show us how trusting God can lead even the most unsure person to greatest of victories.
