    Reason In All Things

    Reason In All Things

Welcome back to Navigate the Day! Today’s episode delves into the importance of ruling our lives with reason. We look at the passage from Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations" and explore how we can apply its three perspectives to our lives.

We are encouraged to consider our own inner voice and conscience, the broader perspective of society and the universe, and to be empathetic towards others' perspectives. By being mindful of these different perspectives, we can lead a more just and fulfilling life.

The journal prompt for today encourages us to reflect on what rules us if not reason. It prompts us to think about the things we allow to govern our decisions and actions. I found myself relating to this prompt on so many levels. I have been guilty of allowing my emotions, desires, and fears to control me in the past. It’s frustrating to realize that the things that we let rule us are often things that we can't control. However, I realize now that this is not a sustainable way of living.

One thing that really stood out to me was the idea of external influences like social pressure or cultural norms. This made me think about how our society shapes our lives in ways that we don't even realize. We are all products of our environment, and it can be difficult to see beyond that sometimes. But it's important to question our role in society and to make sure that we are living our lives in a way that is authentic to us.

As we navigate our lives, we must remember to be ruled by reason, not impulse. It's so easy to act on automatic or instinctive responses rather than thoughtful and deliberate decisions based on rational thinking and evidence. However, as we begin to take control of our lives and rule ourselves with reason, we can begin to live a life that is less ignorant and more fulfilling in the long term.

Remember, we all have the power to change our lives for the better. By taking responsibility for our actions and thoughts, we can make deliberate moves towards a life that is led by reason and wisdom. Let's continue to navigate our lives with purpose, and always remember to be ruled by reason in all things.

Thank you for listening and joining me on my journey of self-discovery!
