    We Are Halfway There

    We Are Halfway There

We are halfway there! The Preds are in a playoff spot despite some good games and some...not so great games. The real question though is what do we do about Saros. We love him, he's the best, but he's just been a different goalie this season. Askarov came up and played a couple games and even got a win. Is it time to bring him up as the full time backup next season?

Plus, what is going on in Toronto? They signed Nylander to the biggest contract in team history and essentially tied their future to the Core Four? Will this backfire on them or will it lead the way to Stanley Cups?

    Preds on a Tear

    Preds on a Tear

The Preds we saw in November are not the same Preds we saw in October. They are on a 8-2 (make that 9-2 after recording) win streak! Could it be the new system is finally clicking? What if Arizona makes the playoffs? Do we see "Mullett Magic" happen for real? Also, Patty Kane lands in Detroit and makes Matt happy to see a superstar want to go to play for the Red Wings!

A Poile Family Thanksgiving: Longtime Preds GM David Poile on the POP

A Poile Family Thanksgiving: Longtime Preds GM David Poile on the POP

Longtime Predators general manager David Poile joins the POP (9:20) before he's honored in Smashville this week. Interview topics include watching games as a fan in retirement with his family, the Tanner Jeannot trade, and retroactive trade advice from his eight-year-old grandson.

Kara Hammer & Max Herz recap Preds losses to the Coyotes and Ducks, look ahead to the Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase in Smashville, and get you set for Pickleball Night at Bridgestone Arena!

In our interview of the week, Preds goalies Juuse Saros and Kevin Lankinen tell us which tendies did the splits at their respective weddings in Finland this summer and who ripped their pants on the dance floor. Plus, Kara gets a shoutout from her hero Mason Ramsey.

    Rebuilds Hurt

    Rebuilds Hurt

The Preds have embraced rebuild mode and well...it hurts to watch despite seeing some fun hockey. This is what the fans wanted, but did they realize what a rebuild really meant?

Edmonton is on a downward spiral, firing their coach after posting a 3-9-1 record after 13 games and losing to the league's worst San Jose Sharks. Will this be enough to keep McDavid in Edmonton or do we finally seeing him request a trade?

Backbone & Smiles: New Preds GM Barry Trotz on the POP

Backbone & Smiles: New Preds GM Barry Trotz on the POP

Kara Hammer & Max Herz recap the first two regular season games, including a 3-0 shutout win in the home opener against the Kraken.

New Predators general manager Barry Trotz joins the podcast as he begins his first season in management (12:15). Interview topics with Trotz include his return to Nashville after 10 years coaching other NHL teams, his expectations for his first season as GM, how Luke Evangelista & Phil Tomasino took the path he gave them to make the opening night roster, and Garth Brooks.

Max spent a period in the Predators' newly-renovated video room with video coach Lawrence Feloney & video coordinator Andrew Meloche, getting an inside look at an integral part of the team's coaching staff.

Plus, Juuse Saros' TV commercial with Ryan O'Reilly is a smash hit, shutout machine #NoGoals, and Hal Gill goofs around.

    How Is This Team Winning?

    How Is This Team Winning?

We are post trade deadline and the Preds are down some big guns and we've called up a good chunk of the AHL roster to fill in the gaps. Somehow, beyond all reason, we are still winning! How?!

We discuss the impacts of Sherwood, Novak, Leonard, and Evangelista as the Preds looking to be giving it their best shot to make into the playoffs as a young and scrappy team who are putting on good, fun hockey!

It's Been Nice To Jeannot You!

It's Been Nice To Jeannot You!

It's been a whirlwind weekend for the Preds. First up, we learn David Poile is retiring as GM and Barry Trotz is taking over come July.  Will the team shine under Trotz or will it continue to be mediocre?

The NHL Trade Dealine is looming and the Preds have been in the mix, the big news being the blockbuster trade with Tampa for Tanner Jeannot. Will the Preds look at trading Ekholm and maybe even...Saros to rebuild the team?

    Bruce There It Is

    Bruce There It Is

Bruce Boudreau was fired from the Canucks in a less than stellar fashion from the Canucks on Monday after being behind the bench for only 14 months. The Canucks loss is another team's gain. The Preds would do good to take a look at the bench boss players and fans love and compare him against Hynes and his current system.

The Preds are on the outside looking in and despite a "competitive rebuild" and "embracing the youth movement", Hynes has done little to help the team become the team we know they can be. Do the Preds take a hard look at bringing in Bruce in the off-season or do we continue to flounder in middle as we have done for years now?

    Yo-Yo

    Yo-Yo

We are nearing the half-way point of the season. The Preds seem to be on a yo-yo as they keeping moving and back forth away from a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, we also have the All-Star game approaching and Juuse Saros will be representing the Preds. Also, Eeli Tolvanen seems to be thriving with the Kraken. Excuse us while we go on a rant to the mishandling of Tolvanen in the Preds system.

    Flooding

    Flooding

The Preds played a shorter schedule thanks to Bridgestone arena being flooded by a major downtown water leak. Despite less games, we finally seem to be seeing some consistently. Defense lines are good, goalkeeping is good, and scoring is being spread out amongst all the forward lines, and we talk about the possibility of seeing Eeli Tolvanen (RIP) and Dante Fabbro being trade targets.

    Home Stand

    Home Stand

The Preds recently completed a home stand, grabbing nine out of 10 points. Has the team finally found their groove? We've seen Forsberg doing Forsberg things and players such as Roman Josi, Matt Duchene, and Nino Neiderreiter stepping up their games and new comers such as Jusso Parssinen making a big impact.

Have the Preds finally found their groove or will we spend the rest of the season playing catch up to the rest of the Central in hopes of making the playoffs?

    Identity Crisis

    Identity Crisis

We are five more games into the season. The Preds started a five game road trip across western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. With an always strong Central Division, the Preds need to figure out their identity. We've seen line blenders almost each game and well known players such as Tolvanen, Carrier, Glass, and Fabbro getting scratched.

They embody the "Smashville" moniker, but as Edmonton proved the other night, skill and speed are what make championship teams these days. Can the Preds figure out their identity before it's too late and find themselves on the golf course in April?

    The Preds 22-23 Season Begins

    The Preds 22-23 Season Begins

The NHL 22-23 season has begun for the Predators. We are seven games and we only have two wins...but on a different continent. Fans are already calling for Hynes to be replaced and in some cases even GMDP himself. Is this an overreaction to a slow start or do we continue to see this happen during the season?

We also discuss the off season signings by the Preds, the new reverse retro jerseys, the Coyotes playing at ASU this season and much more.
