    Thank You, Pekka

    Thank You, Pekka

The podcast returns as the offseason schedule heats up, and there is plenty to discuss. Chris Mason joins Brooks Bratten as goaltender Pekka Rinne announces his retirement. Hear from Pekka as the show analyzes what the decision means for the team and the city. Plus, forward Viktor Arvidsson is traded and the NHL Expansion Draft and 2021 NHL Draft are on the horizon as the busiest two weeks of the summer arrive.

The Final Three and the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Final Three and the Tampa Bay Lightning

The playoffs continue to be in full swing and it's been full of surprises even the biggest names in the hockey world couldn't of expected. Who would have seen the Avs getting bounced, the Canadiens just a few games away from the Final, Boston washing out, and the Lightning flagrantly exploiting the Long Term Injured Reserve rule to grab their second cup. Grab some popcorn and keep watching because who know what will happen next.

We also take Adam Vingan's Fan Survey 3.0 on the season and what the Preds could look like going into next season.

    And Then There Were Eight

    And Then There Were Eight

The Preds have been bounced from the playoffs despite giving the Hurricanes a run for the money to the surprise of everyone. Making the playoffs after the season they had was seen as a success, but now GMDP has some tough questions to answer. Oh, and the expansion draft is coming up as well. Now is the time to see if he can work some magic for next season while maintaining the youth movement we saw this season.

    Playoff Hockey!

    Playoff Hockey!

The 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs have begun! Well, for everyone EXCEPT the North division. It's also bracket time for us here at MCG. The annual money puck bet is back and after looking at the brackets, it appears to be Matt and Daniel verses Kyle.

We go over the games, make our picks, and talk about the tire fire of a first game against Carolina. Here's hoping we make better line up decisions and play better overall against the Canes. Otherwise, this is going to a short run for the Preds.

    2020-21 Regular Season Concludes

    2020-21 Regular Season Concludes

The Predators are on the cusp of clinching their seventh consecutive postseason berth, after one of the most dramatic, in-season comebacks in franchise history. NHL insider Pierre LeBrun joins the show (21:10) to touch on how goaltender Juuse Saros saved Nashville's season (26:51) and predict what the club's roster will look like going forward (25:35). Plus, Thomas Willis and Brooks Bratten look at the final days of the regular season (3:30) and explain how the Preds can clinch a playoff berth (13:15). They also debate what Nashville's Game 1 lineup could look like (53:15).

    Magic Number

    Magic Number

Everyone loves a bit of magic, specially magic numbers. The Preds look to bring their magic number down from seven to zero so they can clinch a spot in the playoffs. Should they make it, and by all accounts they will, they have to get past a first round opponent of the Lightning, Panthers, or Hurricanes.

Hopefully with Saros and a bit of luck on their side, the Preds will withstand the challenge and make a deep run. After all, if the Blues can do it, why not the Preds? All you have to do is get in and then all bets are off.

    Playoff Bound?

    Playoff Bound?

The Preds have defied the odds. In just a few short weeks, they are now looking claim the final playoff spot in the Central Division and be playoff contenders. For this to happen, they have to hold off the Stars and Blackhawks who are looking for that final spot as well. The questions now become will they make it, who will they play, and how far do they go?

Should they fail to place or make an early exit, eyes will turn to the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft in Seattle and GMDP will have to figure out who he wants to protect and the team itself will have another offseason of wondering what could of been.

Will I Stay or Will I Go?

Will I Stay or Will I Go?

Poile, you got to let me know, will I stay or will I go? If you say that I am yours, I'll be a Pred until the end of time. So you got to let me know, will I stay or will I go?

That's the song the Preds were singing just two weeks ago when the season seemed to a wash. Suddenly though, the Preds find themselves on six game win streak after beating Dallas on Tuesday night.

The question now becomes what does Poile do? Does he stand still and try to make the playoffs with the team as it, risking a first round exit against possible Tampa or Carolina or does he trim the fat and focus on the youth movement he teased us about as the season began?

    Early-Season Evaluation; Meeting Sbisa

    Early-Season Evaluation; Meeting Sbisa

The Predators get out to a 2-1-0 start to the 2020-21 season; what have we learned so far? Brooks Bratten and Thomas Willis discuss their early-season observations (11:13), and they chat with defenseman Luca Sbisa (20:30) about joining the Preds after being claimed on Waivers from Winnipeg. Plus, the Predators deal with a postponed game (4:10), and Twitter questions are answered (45:45).

    The Boys are Back!

    The Boys are Back!

The 2021 NHL season has begun! It's a compressed 56 game season and every game is a playoff game. The divisions are different, there are new rules and protocols and a constantly rotating Taxi Squad. We'll take as long as the game we love can be played.

We have new faces in the Preds offense and defense this season as Poile pulled the trigger and sent players packing after last season. How does the team fare and where do they place in this mashed up Central Division? As long as they place 4th or better they'll make the playoffs and then anything can happen.

    Back to Work

    Back to Work

It's been a long five months, but we are back to work! The Stanley Cup Qualifiers are about to wrap up and teams have been dropping like crazy in upsets that were unthinkable earlier in the year.

The Preds were one of those teams, losing their series to the Coyotes and leaving us with the question of "What next?" for a team which rocketed to unprecedented heights and now just appears to not know what to do next.

We'll back next week also with our Bracket episode!

The past week has proven without a doubt we are #NashvilleStrong with teams in the NHL, AHL, and ECHL reaching out to help the Nashville community after the devastating tornadoes which wrecked chaos through downtown Nashville, surrounding counties, and in Putnam County.

We also talk briefly on how the coronavirus is affecting the NHL and look at the possibility that Pekka Rinne's days as the number one starter may be coming to a close as Juuse Saros shines for the Preds down the stretch as they hope to make the playoffs.

    The Six Million Dollar Man

    The Six Million Dollar Man

If you had 6 million dollars, what would you do with it? You could buy a house, a car, or whatever your heart desires. For Kyle Turris and the Preds though, the question has yet to be answered as Turris has now been scratched for seven straight games. David Poile is behind Coach Laviolette on his decision, leaving us all wondering if this is the best use of the Preds own Six Million Dollar Man. Only time will tell what happens.

Also, we touch briefly on the Mike Babcock story, the response from Toronto after he was let go, and the domino effect his firing has created for other teams and around the NHL as a whole.
